    if a deal is struck it means more revenue and this compagny is valued uniquely on revenues so its a big deal for them in the short run. When profits will become important, I am with you that it wont help them much since they will have to slice the pie with cable...

    It would be pretty hard for CRM to fail because they could stop booking new clients and live well on its base of clients on a cash flow basis. That is the world of RMR business models.

    I think this device could be slightly harmful to Netflix but I do not see it having much impact for Amazon because this is not their main business and they wont make much profit on it if any.

    I would love Netflix to make their own device since I am short on Netflix.

    They issued 7B in stocks and 1B in debt in 2012, so most of their cash is not coming from operations... 333M in net income = 1.3B per year on a 120B market cap... Almost a PE of 100 using last quarter annualized.

    Apple would be a 2500B compagnie with such a ratio with its 6.9B earning on last quarter alone...

    Sam, Before investing in this kind of compagnies, learn the basics of financial statements. It could save you a lot of money.

    There was a study that said that american spend on average 8 hours on tv per day and there was place for both Netflix and cable because of this. Great fro Netflix.

    But how Binge viewing can be marginal if americans spend 8 hours a day on average on the tv?

    The two don't add up.
