It seems as though PSEC is the best in the business when it comes to managing these types of riskier securities.

  • A Beautiful Day To Buy Commodity Stocks [View article]
Craig, what do you think about me adding a global metals ETF such as PICK, to diversify my inflation hedging strategy? I believe that this fund has also taken a beating as of late, and I figure that during global economic boom times metals and ores will see higher demands.

    Best regards,

KOL is an international coal ETF. I believe that coal will someday be made clean. I refuse to believe that coal will be left in the ground untouched. I bought 200 shares of coal today! I plan to hold this ETF for a decade.

    Best regards,

  • 5 Reasons Not To Flee Non-U.S. Dividend Stocks [View article]
If you own individual stocks these companies can be manipulated by managements, such as Atlantic Power - AT. What the Fed does effects dividend stocks also, such as REITs and Utilities. So you have to be careful to pick dividend stocks with managements who know how to manage in all interest rate environments, and of course those managements that tell the truth.
my point is, if you do not have stock picking skills, you might as well buy an ETF of dividend paying stocks.

    Regards,

  • New York Community Bancorp (NYCB) is upgraded to Buy at KBW, who gives the bank a 60% chance of executing an accretive acquisition after hearing CEO Joe Ficalora promising to do so at a conference this week. Doing so would likely push the bank into SIFI status, subjecting it - and its 7.5% dividend - to tougher regulatory scrutiny. A necessary evil, says Ficalora. [View news story]
Then it is a good time to buy more!! It is a well run Company!!

The money that we invest in food and food commodities helps the farmers with their production. Farmers would use the investment to buy/ repair equipment and supplies that would make it easier to farm thus, at least keeping the price of food stable for us. The more investment they receive the less has to come from the consumer. the real cost of food comes from their energy cost, which they pass on to us,
