The other problem is if qe stops then deflation takes hold, State Governments are no longer able to pay the bills, defaults happen destroying wealth exc.... Inflating income and assets creates more taxes and that might be the only way to keep things going.. It also reduces some type of expenses.. Inflation also drives certain types of inovations... Inflating Oil prices will drive nat gas and efficentcy, and help support new tek.... nat gas when it goes up will help support alternative energy and effecentcy, (solar I would argue is probaly helped by inflation..)

It would be intresting to note that if you recycle compostible garbage and don't drive it as far (to a land fill) you get a fair amount of bio-gas... I think you can get demand destruction through effeciency and get some extra energy in the process... I think oil demand drops other ways to propell stuff like necular start looking atractive at some price..
