  • 5 Reasons To Buy Ford Motors [View article]
Reason # 6. The PE is going higher.
Ford is America's Manufacturing Apple. People will begin to notice this, and the PE will climb to above average levels. GM Focuses on GMC, Chevy, Buick, Cadillac, Opel and Buick. Ford focuses on Ford, and Lincoln. PAG is gone. People see a Ford and know its a Ford. People see all these GM brands and think....WTF. At Ford you have small teams focused clearly on Ford. At GM you have Teams changing direction (Opel changes to Chevy in Europe - remaking the Malibu after styling bombed - New Trucks not selling as well as old trucks) and at Ford, you have Ford going for gold with the Aluminium F150.
Ford is the new Apple. Ford is focused. (No pun intended) Ford's PE will climb if the American public loves their automobiles and feels passionate about "their" car. And, they do. People are just as passionate about who they love in their pocket (iphone) as to what's in their driveway. And once people see this American icon executing brilliantly around the world creating American jobs - then Ford's PE will climb. Will it climb to 12.5, or 15? Who knows. I don't. But Tesla doesn't deserve the PE it has - and yet Toyota gets a much higher PE than Ford or GM. So, if the PE is going to go higher, the only question is how high will it go. 12.5 - or 15.2, or 21.5. Who knows. Who cares. Ford is going higher with their PE.

  • Ford's New Secret Weapon? [View article]
I do not expect a $3 per share profit by any means. I expect the PE multiple to expand - because it deserves it.

    tdot,
You said "Of course a run-up could happen based on unrealistic expectations, maybe all the way to $30"

I'll paint a scenario where this is possible. If Ford succeeds with the F-150, and they actually have a plan to incorporate more vehicles with Aluminum rather than steel, - and they pull off the electrification of the majority of their fleet (as what Bill Ford stated in his F-150 statements) - and Ford is seen as America's leading voice to solve environmental issues (as Bill Ford clearly demonstrated in the movie surrounding his F-150 release in Detroit - while on-stage with hundreds of journalists) - and they fix the SYNC issues so that Consumers Reports backs off and starts to sing its praises - NONE OF THESE ARE HARD TO DO...and if Ford starts to see some growth in Japan - and if the Mondeo is a success (duh) -

Well, read each of those "ands" on its own. They are all likely (with the exception of Japan - but it's trivial anyhow)

Let's face it. Ford is cleaning GM's clock in Europe, and in America. Oh...and China with growth.

I see the P/E being rewarded and justifiably so to 15+.

By March 2016, we will see 30.

  • A Number Of Reasons Why I'm Staying Long On Shares Of Ford Motor Company [View article]
2014 will see these concerns coil. By the end of 2014, these will uncoil to an upside share price explosion through 2015 and 2016 - or be exploded due to a failed F-150 launch.

You also need to take into account that should the F-150 be very successful, look for serious GM and RAM discounting.

  • Should You Buy Ford After The Sell-Off? [View article]
    Nicholas,

I have the 2016 $17 strikes, not the 15. For me, it's better from an investment standpoint to either be a few $ under or a few $ over the present strike price. Under reduces risk and over increases return IF you're right. Having said that, I hold common as well for the dividend - and these futures are CHEAP because of the dividend loss. For this reason, I hold 15x more commons that the calls (in terms of value)

  • Strong year by Ford ends with a whimper [View news story]
    tdot,
Re: "Somebody around here has got to do it." LOL
Question for you. So based on the fact that things will get "expensive" this year, it may not rattle the sales numbers due to build up before model changeovers....and by the end of 2014 (Oct, Nov, Dec) we may see the results of better than expected sales results enough to mean something nice for the yearly release of 2014's #'s in early 2015. Even the pension obligations should be down further...as well as a prime time to consider dividend increases. Therefore, do you expect that there will be more buyers who understand that early/mid 2014 is the TIME TO BUY Ford Shares because of a fantastic 2015 and 2016...or do you see shortsightedness again.

Lastly, I cannot imaging that with these incredibly low interest rates that you do not see that a stock repurchase plan would be smart. We would be buying back our company at $15-$18 before we all know we will climb to $20-25 in two years. Why wouldn't we just bet the farm and borrow $10 billion now - buy back 20% of the stock - and pay it back in 3 years. The interest rate is low enough.

  • Delusional Panic Over Ford's Newly Issued 2013 And 2014 Outlook Makes It A Buying Opportunity [View article]
Couldn't handle it any longer - and just bought even more of the $17 Jan 2016 Calls. Ridiculously priced. If the stock goes to $23 - which by that time period means they have 2014 and 2015 behind them, this is a GIFT! I suspect that Ford getting to 17.50 by March will put these to $ 2.25 easily.

Moved my $17 calls to Jan 16 as they are fantastically priced and way out there. Thx everyone who sold. You made them cheaper for me.

  • My Favorite Stock For 2014: Ford [View article]
This comparison chat between GM and Ford tells the story. The chart story anyhow. How this works out - nobody know.

But one thing is for sure. GM just bailed on Europe with Chevy, and Ford is string there. GM is strong is China, but Ford is growing.

  • My Favorite Stock For 2014: Ford [View article]
Well guys, I'm into the call options now for March 2014 at $17 strike for 66 cents. Wish me luck. Was going to play options way back but went long instead - and regretted not playing options too. At sub $17, this is a good entry - and I'm looking for a good run up to the yearly earnings parade and the new F150 announcement. I also believe we'll see some upgrades once CEO position is clarified - either way for Alan. I'm a believer - so unlike many of you who piss on the company yet do not place your shorts, I'm placing my call option bet.
