What's your best estimate of what a ~130 Amp-hr LiFePO4 would cost in bulk to the OEM?

Lame O? Yeah, well, guilty as charged. I looked at it and thought I saw only a giant photoshopped goldfish plastered over some poor random long-haired friend of jesus, and well, at that point I figured no frail comment of mine could ever hope to help... so I just let the whole tragedy stand. It was just easier that way. I'm sorry.

In this instance I simply meant organic in the military sense--as in "organic to"....like an internal organ...in other words that each tent would have its own storage---something scaled along the lines of the residential product that TG has mentioned. Not to worry, no granola connotation intended... ;)

The intriguing thing about this report (given the fact that it's a few years old) is how it suggests that apparently for some reason PbC was their "first choice" among promising solutions to evaluate, but due to various immaturities, they weren't able to get their hands on suitable prototypes and thus evidently concluded that PbC technology was still too far out in development to be considered a viable or available solution. There does appear to be a tone of disappointment to that conclusion. But that was then. And this is now. And as we know, PbC is a lot further down the road. Perhaps all the unique potential and promise that warranted their initial consideration then, being largely fulfilled now, might induce a revisiting of their investigation. If that be the case, what a difference a few years should make...

A super insulated tent with integrated flexible thin film solar generation and organic electrical storage/LED lighting/ HVAC would be winner.

Just wait until the EV range lawsuits. One thing that cracks me up about Tesla, is they tout a 300 mile driving range (at 60 mph) and at the same time tout neck-snapping acceleration like 0-60 mph in 5 seconds. I guaranfreekintee if peeps drive the thing with a lead foot and actually use all that acceleration... they ain't gettin' no 300 miles range. And they ain't payin' 50 cents for no coke either.

I first invested in SYNM about 4 years ago, primarily for their GTL process that does not require pure O2, but rather air, as an input. But I eventually gave up on them. The JV with Tyson is cool and all, but unless they're gonna move big into GTL, I'll keep watching...

Certainly worthy points, and LED will surely dwarf ESL...but these bulbs are also to be made in china, and their phosphors are essentially variants of CRT phosphors, which are much cheaper and more plentiful than LED phosphors...

I think OLED is tres cool, but (and I could be wrong) I'm not sure if it can be configured into a "lightbulb" form factor, with the requisite concentrated brightness. Obviously the other form factors (luminescent wallpaper etc) that OLED makes possible are going to be game changers eventually, but in the near term, there are millions upon millions of recessed light fixtures and traditional lamps in existence all over the planet, in both commercial and home environments, fixtures which need lightbulbs per se, and so I think Vu1 has a real opportunity there. I read somewhere that the worldwide lighting market is 50 billion dollars. That's a lot. One tenth of one percent of that is 50 million dollars a year. So even if 1 in 1000 consumers choose ESL, the company does ok. One in a hundred and it does really ok. ;)
