  • Axion Power's IPO Crash: An Opportunity To Buy? [View article]
This time the damage is all up front, as long as the stock is above 3.25 in 4 months. Your decision whether to partake now at 1.75. Whereas before the financing the stock was solidly above 7.50.

Another way to look at it is that many institutions that could do deep due diligence and had seen the road show presentations ultimately paid more than what you could buy as a unit on the open market today (common + A + B warrants). Other than the flippers, there is some smart money saying that all of it is a reasonable bet.

My only regret from my bottom call was that I didn't watch the trading on Thursday. I might have been able to sniff a change earlier and entered 10-20% better.

I thought 190k was the initial arrangement when TG resigned, but following that he released Axion from that agreement. Presumably his health got worse.

Let's be respectful. Running a startup is immensely challenging and is bound to have mishaps. A hardware company is doubly difficult. TG has had misses but also had got us to this point where Axion is on the cusp of breaking out. If we focus on what he did right, there would be many things to talk about. Especially exciting is the position we are in to license or supply carbon electrodes, which was a strategy decision from the start. And the long term projects bearing fruit. When solar and trains take off, we will be smiling from ear to ear and it will be from TG's efforts to keep the company slim and out of the hands of creditors. DDG comes at a great time for the sales and execution boost.

Not sure why you think I'm interesting in shorting! I'm in the "bounce" camp for sure. I think the PIPE shares are done for now and that the stock is ready to climb back towards $3 near term. $5-6 if we get something with meat on it.

I only say if may fall back in case the PIPEs aren't quite done yet. But it won't be for long.

IMO, the end of the PIPE warrange exchange shares being dumps outweighs all else. Only 23k shares traded, mostly buys. We either will fall back or we have much higher to climb.

Don't look now, but AXPW is very very green at +10%. I'll wait before I'll say all clear though, as I've got to take a poop now.

There are always applications where size and weight do not matter, and where safety is paramount. Storage and trains do not mind the weight. Trucks marginally so but there is safety. Auto has always been a fine line.

Furthermore to think that Lithium will ever achieve lead acid battery cost is unrealistic. It's the simple reality that Li and rare earth elements will always cost more than common lead. In fact, rare earth elements are in a bear market and can easily swing the other way if China limits its export (where most of production is).

Sure, per kWh cost might start approaching lead, as I wouldn't bet against science, but the other part of science is that advances are SLOW.

I had a dream that AXPW opened in the 3's on Monday, but my broker had retroactively taken all but 17 or so shares of the ones I bought on Friday.

ePower has previously tried AGM batteries that were reduced to slag from the heavy cycling. The PbC is in short the only product they can use. Lithium would present a host of challenges, including cooling and cost.

How often do companies buy open market shares in another company? Answer: not often. They simply aren't set up to do so. When M&A comes it's typically the whole shebang. Companies are already notoriously poor at timing when buying their own shares.

If you think 3.25 undervalues the company, why wouldn't you buy the shares a 1.44 versus warrants to buy a 3.25 that sell for close to 2? The warrants can't even convert for 4 months which means their value could get sliced, and you have a much more illiquid market.

Please see my post for the actual mechanics and near term reason for the fall. It's simply PIPE funds doing a quick flip exit. It's not a conspiracy to dilute since the B's do not convert for 4 months - they would save their ammo for that instead of selling now. Once these guys are out of shares the stock should recover strongly.
