  • Nokia Results: The Good, The Bad And The Ugly [View article]
According to early impression created by Elop and his team, people were fighting fiercely to grab a Lumia 920 since it has always sold out and had "supply issues". There was of course no need to work so hard to grab people on the street to hold it.

At this moment I only trust my own judgement. I guess you might have bought my shares sold yesterday. I am going to invest the return to a Hong Kong listed company with annual dividends higher than 6% consistently increased in the last 5 years which has a PE of 5. You can collect more NOK shares today at $3.06 without any problem unless you want to collect more than 20 million shares.

When making judgement, try to make complex things simple, not the other way around.

I am off the boat for the time being as I've seen something fundamentally wrong. I've made some profit and will look around for good company with low price. I hope you guys luck and I might say hello to you again when NOK dips to below $2 provided the fundamentals are good. I am extremely disappointed with the results.

@Pimust, I am afraid to say what you see is far away from the truth in some other countries including China.

The good - Nokia engineers and the products.
    The bad - the sales.
    The ugly - Nokia CEO.

Lumia 920 is already a top notch phone, how is the fate then? The point is that top notch phone does not translate automatically into well received phone!

Nokia spent a lot of time and money to develop top notch phones and then sell only a few of them, and then, develop another top notch phone with all the effort again. What the hell is it for?

@ Mr. Knowitall: although that scenario may not be seen in a foreseeable future, it is to highlight to you how vulnerable Nokia is right now. As you consider yourself know-it-all, did you say that this was the only crazy talk? Any comment on other points?

@mr wonder: you have seen only one side of the coin.

Elop has done a very poor job in promoting the Lumia 920/820 phones in China and the great China area. It is a terrible waste of the talents of Nokia engineers. Apart from the good features of the Lumia 920, one of the major problems is over heating while surfing (as reported in a Chinese major website Sina) is purely associated with the software problem rather than hardware, and Elop and Microsoft did not solve this major problem even today!

Imagine if one day, Microsoft is tired of WP system and decide to shift its business, what will happen to Nokia? Elop is good at company politics, he put himself in a safe position in less than 2 years by eliminating various opponents and potential threats. Try to imagine what will happen to Nokia if tomorrow it announces that Elop will be removed? Nokia will suddenly lost its direction and need again a major re-shuffling! This is exactly what has been engineered by Elop! Need me to elaborate more?

Not yet the worst as I see it as long as Elop remains on the post.

Elop has done a great job to destroy Nokia by putting all the eggs into one basket. Look at the sales in the great China area, it's simply a shame if you recall that he proudly announced the collaboration with China Mobile a few months ago. He is lying by telling you the so called "supply issue" but in fact a "demand issue". The price of Lumia 920 has continuously dropped in the Great China markets.

This guy will definitely destroy Nokia if he remains on the post. Let me elaborate it further when I've got time.

  • Nokia May Announce Earnings Any Day Now [View article]
The market has always surprised us with unexpected scenarios. How about if Elop The Great does not release anything on April 4th and 5th? You will then see a herd of NOK longs flee the boat and the stock price dips. This will become a good opportunity for shorters. Be prepared for both expected and unexpected to survive a heart shock.
