  • Glu Mobile's CEO Discusses Q1 2014 Results - Earnings Call Transcript [View article]
Interesting that there is no mention of anything coming out of the Uk with their partnership with RMG firm Probability...was this a non-starter or is something in the pipeline ..perhaps connected with the forthcoming James Bond release (007 and Casinos go hand in hand)... a suprise on this front could blindside us all

2013 is about 3 things for DCTH :

    1) FDA approval... ok only for occular..but hugely significant. As much as appoval can ever be "in the bag"..this does indeed look to be the case

    2) EU revenues... we need to see actual $ coming from the EU..with the sheer no. of centres now in training and either up and running or near to it, this could suprise to the up side...the company has not given any forecasts

    3) Asian partnership news.

Reward/Risk ratio is very very good at these levels

Agree Mr Creamer...the author does not know what the hell he is talking about.
Luminex and Affy ARE NOT dna sequencing companies.

Possible other true sequencing companies (possessing propietory first and next generation sequencing platform technologies) are:
Life , Helicos Biosciences, Pacbio, Complete Genomics (already bid for by Beijing Genomic Institute)

Illumina is not the only show in town by far

  • Is Illumina In Play? Analyzing The CEO's Comments, Financials, And The State Of Business [View article]
and dont forget BGI IS one of Illumina's biggest customers (and their big hope in Asia)..now they are setting themselves up in the US as Illumina's competitor in the contract sequencing business...and looking to use the GNOM platform as a base into clinical diagnostics...Illumina have to either hurry up and go under the Roche banner or counter BGI's bid. Also Illumina have no platform development plans centred around Single Molecule or direct RNA sequencing...you can bet that BGI will be active here.

absolute nonesense ! ..bankers have not been trying to sell Helicos..far fro it. The company has intentionally gone to ground..all the 4 original insider VC's have held ALL of their stock since the IPO and have recently engineered a way (via the bridge loan facility) to INCREASE their holding. Yes..nobody wanted to buy their machines..because Illumina had already saturated the market with cheaper inferior machines and Helicos's price tag was too high. Helicos is also NOT a patent estate company in mothballed state..it is using its machines 24/7 on "undisclosed" contract work...ground breaking papers continue to be published (eg the sequencing of Arabidopsis RNA 2 weeks ago) and yet receives NO publicity in the Illumina controlled media ie Genoneweb). ...and Patrice Milos (ex Helicos science head) still lauds Helicos technology after having returned (after her Helicos "placement") to Pfizer......oh no ..there is plenty going on at Helicos.

  • Roche Building On Its Strengths [View article]
Roche's CEO Severin said specifically (on the conference call following the Illumina bid) that after acquiring illumina they would be looking to make further bolt-on acquistions in the field of single molecule and direct RNA sequencing..there is ONLY one company who has these capabilities ....and because it's market cap is so small it is being overloooked by all. The company is Helicos Biosciences HLCS. Roche could easily take their proprietory platform and use it as the basis for its diagnostics push.

  • Coming Wave Of Companion Diagnostics: Who's Making A Splash [View article]
No mention of Helicos Biosciences(HLCS)... the ONLY next generation plafform capable of sequencing RNA directly...massively important to mdx going forward...also the first and only true single molecule sequencing technology..they were poised to launch their own diagnostics business..many say that Foundation Medicine is de facto Helicos's diagnostics business ... and that the true relatiionsip will be revealed after current patenet litigation Helicos has brought against Illlumina is settled. Either way , despite Helicos's ridiculously low market cap... their technology is likely to play a major role in the diagnostic space going forward. This was strongly alluded to by the Roche CEO at the time of the failed bid for Illumina...he said on the conference call that after the takeover they would be interested in acquiring companies with single molecule and direct Rna sequencing capability...Helicos is the only such company.

  • $33,000 American Portfolio: Closing A Position And Moving Into Bio And Pharma [View article]
HLCS (helicos biosciences) is worth a punt..has the ONLY next generation genetic sequencing platform capable of sequencing RNA directly...all the original VC insiders have held ALL shares despite company moving on to pink sheets and now trading at 9c ! This is an obvious takeover target and could easily go to 70c in ablink

  • Roche Looks To Regain Life Science Legitimacy With A Bold Bid For Illumina [View article]
The fly in the ointment is that Helicos has an active lawsuit against Ilumina (and Life and Pac Bio) claiming infringement of their patents...in effect if upheld (and Helicos are quitely confident) this will undermine the very IP upon which Ilumina's next generation sequencing platform is based... with this hanging over Ilmn (court mediation is 13th Feb with Jury trial later in September) this must pose a serious question over Roche's bid.
