  • Could Apple Be The Next Amex, Or Could Amex Be The Next Apple?  [View article]
I get a little nervous on Amex comparing posts such as this considering WSJ articles such as this:

Apple has done well to match its activities to business cycles. Has AMEX?

I don't get this article. It seems to have its own "reality distortion field" going.

  • Apple closes first negative year since 2008  [View news story]
I don't want to get caught up in the tactical.

The strategy needs to be revised - it needs more proactivity and less reactivity. Where is the market going? Where is AAPL going? Where is the line being drawn? What happened to skating to where the puck will be? A solid strategy will help investor confidence.

I keep seeing AAPL waiting, waiting for what?

I'd like to see peripheral products be upgraded with latest technology.

AAPL needs to focus on customer experience and employee engagement to build up brand strength and advocacy. More curiosity to learn more, ask more questions will lead to more innovation - whether it is sustaining or disruptive innovation.

These are a few of the things I've been thinking about, talking to AAPL and others about.

Love to hear others' (not haters) thoughts.

  • I Love Star Wars But Should I Buy Disney?  [View article]
That's one of the best things I heard today. ESPN doesn't seem to "fit" the DIS culture.

I'd agree with OJ - I'm a staunch supporter of AAPL and long, but frustrated. Cash aside, what is happening with product development, customer experience, general management, etc. is of concern. I hear things from inside and outside of AAPL. I hope they can right the ship soon. To be honest, investor confidence is not great these days. A lot of global goings-on causing reaction. Again, can be fixed but a do-nothing approach - where a proactive strategy with appropriate tactics is best - has not worked and will not work. Looking forward to seeing some type of signs soon.

  • Apple: What Drives Upside From Here?  [View article]
Really like this article - with sound stats to back up the analysis. I thought that the 5.4% of existing iPhone users considering the watch is very telling as well as the fact that Apple decided not to go all in with the watch. Very smart move.

  • Apple: Does The Party End In 2015?  [View article]
I don't see that. The better alignment is for GOOG to acquire them and I don't see that happening in the near term either. The best path is for AAPL to acquire tech/personnel from smaller outfits and they have been doing some of that - earlier this year - and my spies tell me that effort is moving forward.

  • Apple: Does The Party End In 2015?  [View article]
It was my understanding talking with my AAPL contacts and my independent research that the plan was to move away from GOOG and go with own or acquire tech or do acqui-hire. Thought there was a recent acqui-hire in that direction. Seems that's where the tide is moving...

    BTW, thanks for posting Alex.

  • Apple: Facing A Challenge From Google's Android  [View article]
Thought this post by Forrester was interesting.

Definitely a marketing slant but an interesting insight into what is working for Xiaomi. The CEO is what China is touting the Steve Jobs of China, yes? Isn't Xiaomi another China company ripping off Apple, et al? I thought that was the reason that Apple was blowing them off. However, if Xiaomi plays with too much fire, Apple will burn them...

Definitely a good win by AAPL, but wasn't it a bit frivolous by the plaintiffs? There just wasn't much meat to their case.

Many winners on the gas price decrease. Especially retailers. More disposable income on which to spend (although with the economy erratic, disposable income is more of an oxymoron these days...).

Thanks @azazello for your rudeness. I'm not surprised. Many commenters now on SA are rude. It used to be on SA that you could peruse the site, read the articles, comment and be civil about it, maybe even learn something new and gain some new friends in the process. Those days are gone...apparently. If you are so anti-Google for education, why don't you be a man, and do something about it, instead of being condescending, complaining and hiding behind your comments?
