Tripoley, I do not see Afrezza was specifically referred. Are these articles addressing the efficacy of Afrezza or insulin in general?

Also take a look at the tudiabetes.org forum.

Lots of discussions going on there

    Following is Mikep recent comment:

So I've been on Afrezza for a week and here's what I've found so far :
-very simple to inhale with no taste or residue
-definitely gets into your system fast and exits even faster (no tail at all)
-Through experimentation (I know only a week) it seems that it's very important to take the Afrezza right when you start to eat.
-In some situations I think it's good to split the dose but I haven't experimented enough yet to say this definitively.
-Still not sure how much of an impact it has for correction boluses.
-I'm much more comfortable with the dosing. i.e. I'm not nervous to inhale 8u of insulin for say a 50-60 carb meal. 8u of SubQ would send me into a severe hypo for a 50-60 carb meal.
-Most importantly - I have not had ONE HYPO since starting Afrezza.

In conclusion - I am very hopeful for my continued use of Afrezza. It is still trial and error and I'm sure it will be for everyone. I still have those "why is this happening, why isn't is working?" moments, but hey, I'm only a week in :)

Exactly. They would not say it's good for sure until the company has good track record for at least 3 consecutive quarters. These financial experts are usually not here to offer advice but to lead retail investors to believe in something they are asked to convey.

  • MannKind's Financial Statements Can Be Scary To Most Investors [View article]
Thanks Austin and Radiohet, the reason I asked Austin such question is because he seems to undermine those without accounting experience. I believe even though investors without accounting experience but having basic accounting & financial knowledge are also good enough to understand a company's financial performance and make investment decisions in addition to conduct of due diligence in such other areas as management, commercial contracts, marketing, business and product developments, patents, etc.

By the way Austin, comparing current ratios with Sanofi (SNY) may not be relevant in my opinion as MNKD is in transition from a R&D bio company into a company of product development & commercialization while SNY is much diversified with R&D, drug treatments, M&A, etc. in addition to market cap and global operations.

Also it may be better to spread MNKD's financial statements no just one year but for at least 3 consecutive years to arrive a meaningful comparison in operational and financial aspects.

    Just my 2 cents here.

    Hi Austin

I just wonder what kind of accounting experience you have acquired thus far to be able to advise investors who do not have. Are you a AICPA or CFA or majoring in accounting right now?

I'm sure SNY's Compensation Committee must have lined out a list of goals for the new CEO to achieve. It is not up to the new CEO to decide which products he wants to bargain with SNY for more bonus but to follow what has been set for him to perform accordingly, if he ever wants bonus. After all, it's a French company.

Maybe your Chinese friend is from tier one city in China. I have reservation of what his statement. I can assure you that a lot of Chinese from rural areas are still in poverty. People from cities are generally much better off than rural places.

Afrezzauser refers to Afrezza as the Ferrari of insulins, LFD probably likes Exubera much better as a delivery truck. While Ferrari is about power and speed, a delivery truck is all about loading and size.

LFD: MLV analyst is stating his opinion. Please do not take it as a fact. It's just like if other contributor calls you "Ignorant", doesn't that reflect your true character, does it?

I'm sure MNKD's CFO will have to let the public know as much as he can disclose simply within the parameter of the confidentiality of partnership agreement between SNY and MNKD.

I have heard so many times this sort of lines from Yahoo message board. Nothing really new to me but I do take this article as an opportunity for longs to buy more cheap shares, if MNKD share price ever drops because of it.
