Peter Vanderminden, CTO at KulaGuna Consulting is a widely recognized thought leader and futurist in the “Internet of Things” (IoT) and digital supply chain management. Recently retired from Microsoft, where he was Industry Manager, Manufacturing & Supply Chain, he now advises investment portfolio managers on the IoT/Cloud Computing industry and consults to companies in the industrial manufacturing, transportation and health-life sciences sectors. His expertise is in developing enterprise architecture and innovation strategies to integrate physical and digital supply chains for IoT enablement. He is a past director of APICS (2014-2015) and the Supply Chain Council (2012-2014), the leading industry trade associations for supply chain management best practices and certifications. He also serves as a member of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's (RPI) Industry Advisory Board on supply chain management and analytics graduate programs at the Lally School of Business and represents RPI to the Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC). He holds an MBA, with Distinction, from Leeds University, Leeds, UK; a BS in Communications Science from RPI, Troy, NY and a post-graduate certificate in System Dynamics from MIT, Cambridge, MA. A Six Sigma Master Black Belt, his career spans 30 years of working in supply chain management, transportation, financial services, health/life sciences and computer software industries and has worked at companies such as Microsoft, JP Morgan Chase, General Electric, UPS and Pitney Bowes-MapInfo. Mr. Vanderminden is a frequent guest speak at industry and academic conferences on the topics of supply chain management, connected systems, IoT, telematics/informatics and business process management.
