  • Globus' Acquisition Of Excelsius Makes It A Compelling Robotics Story  [View article]
Nice article but let's get the story straight concerning screw placement and number of x-rays. Not sure what stats you are quoting when you say that it takes 6-7 x-rays PER SCREW with other companies but I sell spinal implants with another company and NEVER once have I seen my docs use x-ray more than 3-4 times MAX! Most only need 2 shots as they are VERY good and VERY proficient docs. My only differential is ortho vs nuero spine surgeons. The Nuero guys take more shots as they tend to be more conservative and careful than orthos (in general) but even the older, super slow Nuero Spine surgeons I work with don't take 6-7 shots PER SCREW!!

Additionally, 1 shot is IMPOSSIBLE and should NEVER be the goal. By virtue of patient safety you absolutely need 2 shots per screw MIN!! One before screw placement (usually with a ball-tip probe in the initial awl hole to ensure good trajectory), then another once the screw is in place to ensure the tip did not advance past the other side of the vertebral body). Good surgeons can feel good screw purchase and will stop immediately if they feel they have bad trajectory before the body is compromised. Robotics take that feel away and pretty much ALL spine surgeons I know are VERY leary of using robots. Keep in mind that DaVinci is having issues in Urology proving that the robot is safer than traditional hands on surgery. It was the younger surgeons who wanted these robots and the hospitals spent TONS of dollars acquiring them as simple recruitment tools. Now most of the robots are collecting dust when the surgeon leaves or starts to question the technology's true benefits (costs to operate, time in surgery, safety, learning curve, and ease of use).

I know robotic technology is coming in due time but trsut me folks, it's not happening as fast as you think. I'm on the front lines and can tell you what I see and experience regarding spinal products. With that said, I DO believe Globus is positioned VERY well so the stock may do well but not because of this. If so, its pure emotion and we all know as investors that sometimes emotions can make a stock jump just as much (if not more so) than actual stats (Twitter, Facebook, Tesla for instance). I am still holding out on GMED but only because I get to see how hard it is to even get a case scheduled and reimbursed these days!! I know I'm not making the money we all used to in ortho implants due to the capitated pricing, lower reimbursement schedule, and increased denials. My money is in other much more promising areas of healthcare. I just had to say something on your x-ray comments making it seem this Excelsius acquisition was something special. Trust me, it's NOT!!

Thanks a TON Kevin. It's been so damn quiet today! Have you guys noticed the severe lack of volume today?! Looks like the more rational traders are FINALLY back in control!! Good grief the past few days were NUTS! ;-) Good luck to us all still in this for the long haul.

Great info guys! Don't get my previous blogs wrong. I firmly believe in NBS as well was just a bit nervous of all the R/S talk that was going on (for good reason I still think). I also doubt NBS will pull the trigger on that option as well but that is going off my gut and we all know trading off of gut feeling can bite you hard! However, in this case I still think it's a safe play. I will be jumping back in soon. What I especially like about NBS is that their stem cells are not taken from embryos or fetus. As I mentioned earlier, I work in the medical fiend and have seen stem cells used for spine cases and the question ALWAYS asked is if they are from fetus or embriotic stem cells! NBS is not and has blessings from the Vatican whereas the other competitors DO NOT!! This will be HUGE as this new technology turns the next corner!! Just transferred some cash into my brokerage account earlier this week. As soon as it shows available, I will be back on this one! ;-)

How soon would that come (if at all)? It greatly effects the VRNG pps (as we are witnessing) and HAS to be considered extremely unfair to the traders at no fault of their own. Yes, we all know there is risk involved but to be penalized due to a miscalculation by the jury AND the judge (for not catching it before the verdict was read) is unsatisfactory in my opinion. This type of thing is the kind that skakes the faith of trading society in my opinion and must be addressed immediately I would think. If not, all I can say about this country at this time is......wow, really?!! I served for 15 years why?

BTW, the whole damn market is taking a beating today due to the election results. I expected this if Obama won (still scratching my head how....Benghazi wasn't enough?). The VRNG stock is taking a hit as well and my opinion is it has nothing to do with the stock and more to do with the market as a whole (rising/lowering tide thing). I'm not panicing.....yet!! Need to know if miscalculation info is accurate tho.

Thanks Steve. Was hoping you would give us your thoughts. Thanks!! I figured it would't be as easy to fix as we all hoped. Please keep us informed as much as you can. It sounds like you are saying a miscalculation has not been positively verified and there is a chance the numbers released yesterday could be correct (despite being extremely low considering). I was under the impression a miscalculation was confirmed. This is making me stay put for now so I certainly would like to know if I am taking undue risk based on bad info. Thanks a ton!!

Tell me where to sign SecretlySavage!! I agree. I can only imagine the traders who have lost tons on this deal!! Fortunately I have an amount that I can spare to lose since I am basically a first month trader and am dabbling right now. None-the-less this one STINKS TO HIGH HEAVEN of stock manipulation even from a novice trader's view point!!! I just hope it gets fixed soon. However, even if it does it doesn't change the outcome for those who traded this week. Lawsuit for those losses due to outside manipulation? This is just plain crazy. It's a roller coaster ride with people falling out of their safety restraints with the rest of us watching and wondering when the damn thing will stop!!

  • NeoStem to Create Value with Billion Dollar Potential  [View article]
Oops! IT could still be a huge winner is what I meant to type in that last sentence. So far, I am a loser in terms of my trading losses this month!! lol However, most of that was from dumping NBS at a slight loss earlier when they announced the potential for a reverse split. I have since invested in other opportunities so I could be a winner soon!! ;-)

It does sound a lot like a political answer to me as well. I absolutely LOVE the product and the HUGE upside potential. I don't believe this article one bit as I am sure it's in response to the hugely negative sentiment the company saw in the amount of shareholders who dumped the stock when they announced the approval of a possible reverse split (myself included). We now need to weigh the pro's and cons. Honestly, the pro's are multiple and the only con is the FDA approval process (which I believe is only a slight con as NBS has a FANTASTIC product that seems to truly solve a real life problem with HUGE market potential) and the looming option to reverse split. It's not a matter of math by the way. If it were then a forward split would seem much more detrimental as you are lowering your stock price in that scenario, yet THAT type of split is viewed as HIGHLY positive! Sentiment plays a HUGE part in all split types. C'mon man! I've only been trading a month now and even I have figured that much out so don't try to tell us a reverse split is good cuz all educated traders know it is NOT!! History tells that story VERY clearly. All that said, I am still watching this one closely simply because of the product. I could still be a huge winner.

  • The Vringo Vs. Google Verdict: Did Vringo Investors Win As Well?  [View article]
Wow!! No mention at all about the miscalculation and how it will play a MAJOR factor in how this stock has played out. You are part of the problem with how this stock has wipsawed over the past few months based purely from short supporting articles like this! Shame on you sir!

Steve, where are you man?! Sure would like to know what you think of all this. You've been very quite lately and that concerns me a little bit. Did you dump your shares yesterday?! lol I'm sure you didn't.

Sheeple!! That's awesome!! Nice one SecretlySavage and VERY true!! Glad I hung on. Like Mitigate, I also deactivated my stop loss this afternoon as I felt the "sheeple" out there would do exactly what they did if the verdict wasn't as high as we were hoping for (which we all knew was going to be the case last night so why was everyone else so surprised and panicked?!). Thank God I did as it went slightly below my preset loss limit but then bounced back up. I would have been kicking myself later!! Based upon what I have learned so far, I have decided to hang on for the ride a bit longer. I have learned a lot about the market's unpredictability on this one for sure. I know I have many more bumps and bruises yet to come but at least I am feeling confident that I am in fact learning. Thanks again to Steve but also to you guys who post your comments and share your knowledge!!!

The verdict was not what we all had hoped for as far as the sum of monies to be paid to Vringo. I suspect that everyone is panicing and selling (hopfully its the dumb money and not the smart money). However, I firmly believe the stock is still worth more than what it is currently trading at given the royalties that are to be received. I am hanging on (with a set price to sell if it falls below it) with the hopes that once the dust settles the price will gravitate to where it should be. I am definitely looking forward to hearing what Steve has to say. Today has been a CRAZY day with Election Day adding stress on top of this crazy stock!! ;-)

I agree 100%!!! I dumped my shares immediately after they stated they had this option approved as the history clearly points to reverse splits as being very bad for the investors!! Good for the company, but still, bad for investors. I am waiting and watching to see if the time comes when I feel safer making a play on this one. I am in the medical sector myself so I LOVE the technology they offer!! Just want to make sure I make a solid play and this darn R/S issue they just raised made me very skiddish. Sounds like I'm not the only one!

Steve, thanks so much for your insight and shared knowledge! I am very new to trading (like I just started THIS month type of new) and am hoping to make a nice win off one of my first investments. I initially got in too high, dumped my shares at a slight loss and got in at a better price later (although not as good as the prices on Monday!!). It's not as much as most of you guys have on the line I am sure but it will help me stay in the trading fight so to speak. You were a HUGE help on this one! Thanks again!!
