  • "It's an absolute frenzy to buy finished lots or platted lots, the busiest my company's ever been," says the head of a Phoenix land brokerage firm. The homebuilders have obviously had a big year. How might landowners and real estate developers fare in this environment? The St. Joe (JOE), Limoneira (LMNR), Tejon Ranch (TRC), and AMREP (AXR) come to mind. Any others? [View news story]
any specific data on JOE? I was long, might buy back...

  • Tesla Motors (TSLA -3.3%) CEO Elon Musk concedes the next six months are "crucial" for the automaker as it scales up production to meet expectations. The typically highly-optimistic exec becomes a bit more grounded with his statement that if the company doesn't become cash flow positive it will join the graveyard of car company startups. [View news story]
TSLA was fun for a few quarters after the IPO, just another pet rock scam. He is spending all his time making space ships....SHORT this company to a buck....ya heard'

  • Molycorp: A True Value Play [View article]
I wish I knew anyone who is actually short this stock. Will anyone admit to being short this mega-growth story? Please give me prices you are short. I hear a little squeaky negative chit chat about rare earth prices every now and then but no one will come out and say "short MCP" or "I am short MCP", lot of talk....Lets all crack open our cell phones and look at the rare earths in them. Entire car industry is loggin futures orders in certain rare earths, that MCP mines. ENTIRE CAR INDUSTRY I said. The ceo's of car companies are all long this stock, its like a little extra subsidy for their already insanley high rates of pay. CEO of Toyota "buy me 50k MCP mkt order, and after you are finished call MCP and order me some rare earths so we can make sure they are comfortable" Bonsai.

ps Every piece of telecom equiptment will have a rare earth in it in the next decade. There is no recycling program for rare earths, nor will there be. Used in too small of doses to make sense. Its just a game being played by the manufacturers of products we need to create verticals off of verticals that they can legally insider trade. If you dont see the game, get out. Reminds me of silver, but skinnier trader... Buy MCP, blowoff is coming.

  • Vehicle specialist Oshkosh (OSK) up 8.3% AH after Carl Icahn files that he's taken a 9.5% stake in the "undervalued" company - joining other key owners like SAC Capital and George Soros - and he's ready to have a talk with management about unlocking that value ...  [View news story]
Not bad for a guy who shut down his stock manipulation hedge fund for the reason of oncoming economic disaster! He must have changed his mind. I wonder if he sold his entire position before 4pm today.

  • A Second Chance to Profit From RIMM's Pain [View article]
Let me know when this new management team shows up and they lay out the new plan to beat AAPL and GOOG, and at this point, the low end players since they may have to head that way with their price points and products. They essentially are the low end already but simply overpricing their crap-the reason why no one is buying their CRAP. Honestly, please let me know when the new management comes in, THEN I will think about buying the stock, not NOW?! Why now? You say "NEED NEW MGMT" so buy THEN!!!!!! NOT NOW!

Until this new supermanagement shows up, this stock will erode away quarter by quarter. RIMM's subpar performance will be MAGNIFIED this holiday season when competitors take any loose share hanging around. Wait till Facebook comes public and decides to enter the handset/tiny flat computer mkt.. Maybe they will buy RIMM at 2 bucks to enter the market properly.
You lay out a pretty solid bear case above, re-check what you wrote, I think you are saying you like this company, come over to the darkside, its been fun, and its going to be more fun.

Remember if you started a company today, what would be the last company you would want to compete with? AAPL? What about the second to last Google? Ah, RIMM is f'd. Goodnight.

ps. the first new hire for RIMM should be a professional trader, a real bad ass mfker trader, so they can avoid buying so much of their stock back at 60bucks!! They should have bot none, let their company go to 10 bucks then bought it back. Idiots.

  • Coca-Cola (KO) accuses Goldman Sachs (GS), owner of the largest metals warehouse in the LME system, of inflating prices by restricting the amount of metal released to customers. "It takes two weeks to put aluminum in, and six months to get it out," says Coke's strategic procurement manager. BS story. GS has no control over commodity prices. If you think GS controls KO's input costs and the price of tin cans you are wacked in the head. The Huffington Post is the Inquirer of Wall Street. Full disclosure, if you dont own GS stock at these levels you dont want to make money, that was easy.

  • Research In Motion May Be Hurting but Plenty of Opportunity Remains [View article]
If someone can tell me what month and year RIMM "will be back", I will gladly buy some leaps. When they make this big comeback, I gather the stock may trade from 3-4-5 bucks to 8-9-10, if they get lucky and the world economy truly rips, and if APPL dies somehow. AAPL may buy them for their patents at 3 bucks for fun and Steve Jobs will give them away at a garage sale out of his new state of the art storage facility.... Hedge funds love these summer sob stories they can pummel into the ground while the SEC is on vacation, well, they are always on vacation, but you know what I mean.

Think ahead to next q when people start talking Christmas. If you are a kid and you dont get an AAPL product for Christmas, worse, you get a RIMM product, you will be worked over at school till your parents get the echosystem correct. This aint about stocks anymore, this is about status.

  • Just One Stock: Looking for Better Margins, Hitching to a Trucking Rebound [View article]
I hear ya. The stock worked for a month and now its in the toilet. The only problem I had was that the writer was putting out incorrect information, which I detailed above. I would never listen to someone pitch a stock online anyway, but I do like to read and do my own research.

Since my earlier post I checked FINRA BROKER check

and looked up this guy's firm and his personal file, all public knowledge....Olympia Asset Mgmt. has aweful lot of fines against them for treating customers badlly, and making money dissappear from customer account and a few other red flags. This is not the type of person I want to get my stock advice from. I dont mind reading data points if someone wants to put them out there, but I always check on WHO is writing them. Seems like a bad egg out there pumping his stock and leaving listeners holding the bag--again. You gotta look past the fancy suit and tie, anyone can buy one. If you check their firm they have many incomplete areas on their website, along with grammatical and typographical errors. Basically if you give them money you must be a moron. Olympia Capital/Asset Management, Rosecliff Capital(there is literally NO information out there on this firm, it could be a black hole) buyer beware. I sent an email for information request from Rosecliff Capital and it was bounced back to me. Maybe out of business.

Check FINRA broker check for yourself and search for this person, you will see.
