  • Did Dendreon Play with Fire? [View article]
As sure as the gravitation rule, I'm of the opinion that Provenge will be approved shortly provided the FDA panel rids itself of narrow parochial interests and makes an honest assessment of the superiority of Provenge over other drugs in the market. The new US administration must see to it that the FDA is rid of corrupt individuals obstructing the Provenge approval process.

  • The Andrew Jackson Portfolio - Nine Stocks for $20 [View article]
Beg to disagree. Would rather go for the agricultural sector which in my view would largely remain unaffected by the current market slowdown (avoiding using the "r" word which is also depressing!)My pick for a $ 20 stock is AGCO Corporation, Symbol "AG".

  • Dendreon 2007 Annual Report and How Provenge Will Propel Company [View article]
Hate to say this, but vested interests in the approval "chain" are also working against the early approval of Provenge despite the positive results achieved in trials so far indicating that life expectancy would improve with its use at the cost of nearly zero side effects. The new administration would do well to keep an eye on the headwinds against approval of Provenge and safeguard the interest of the p.c. patients who are keen to use the drug to minimize their sufferings and improve the quality of their life.

  • Economic Woes Slow Food Demand, But Potash Prices Should Stay Strong [View article]
China and India being the biggest consumers of fertilizers should hardly be in a position to dictate prices even in the present economic environment, and therefore investment in fertilizer sector stocks is highly recommended for decent rewards in the present "unattractive" market conditions.

  • Apple Will Survive Jobs' Departure [View article]
There is no doubt that Apple is the finest company around, the credit for which goes to Steve Jobs who, painstakingly, built the company into the Apple empire which it presently is. Long may Steve Job survive. Long may Apple survive and propsper.

  • Three Investor Lessons from the Satyam Scandal [View article]
Having lived through the nightmarish situations of enron, lehman brothers etc I am sort of "seasoned" to expect that scandals, fake balance sheets et al can be found every where, including the emerging markets. So it ill- behoves the more "scrupulous" players of the industrialized world to raise a finger at India when even their auditors coalesce in certifying patently dubious account books. Greed has no fixed domicile!

  • Apple's Greatest Idea Yet [View article]
Only goes to show that AAPL is a super super stock not only for the short term but also for the long haul. Aren't those people lucky who own this stock and those aspiring to come on board the AAPL express. Go AAPL all the way! No second thoughts.
