Recently widowed at 54, homemaker & mom. Medical bills of late husband's cancer treatments consumed all of our family assets/cash. Have some life insurance proceeds that I would like to invest so that I will not have to eat Ramen every day when I am old :o)

Need guidance as to how to learn about investing CONSERVATIVELY. I cannot afford to lose this insurance money as I need it for my teen son and me to live on, but it will disappear quickly if I do not do something to make it grow. Any advice will be appreciated!
