Unfortunately, Apple would not "fix" the Adobe software. Apple would disassemble whatever the masses could not readily use, and then where would we be. Hopefully, Apple won't go that direction. We have a perfect world with Apple zooming forward, with Microsoft plodding along with their steady Office, and with Adobe having come up with all sorts of nifty things that they are continually improving, tying everyone and everything together. Hey, they are the creators of PDF! Adobe rocks! The perfect world = do something on Excel, drag it onto Word, drag it onto Illustrator 10 through cs3, then enlarge if you are only using one of those, or then drag it onto Illustrator cs4 because going directly to cs4 doesn't work, enlarge size, select with Grab, save, then open in photoshop, using a Mac. (Maybe it'd work with a pc) We're talking a few seconds of work after laying down the idea in Excel, btw. Enjoy. (I know using Office 2003 works that way.)
I have used a Mac since Apple 2. I would never have just an Apple product. Apple Works went two years, unable to open Microsoft Word. Apple is great with innovation and lousy in maintaining standards, case in point, Claris Works, which they turned into Apple Works. Also, I used iMovie v.2 for a science study, having used the previous iMovie version for something else. When I cropped the faces, they turned squished in jpg. They did not stay true, proportionally. When I called Apple, they told me that something had to go in order to have all the innovations for iMovie v.2. Apple felt no compunction to maintain a basic standard. I own Aperature because a new Mac operating system, many times, is not be able to download photos from cameras, i.e. RAW, until later. I own Lightroom and got the CS4 Master Suite because I want a standard I can trust, and I will eventually get all the ones that Apple puts out, so my Mac will work with new operating systems. I may love my Macs, but I don't trust Apple.
