4 Reasons Windows 8 Will End Apple's Market Share Growth - And Why Apple Shouldn't Care [View article]
@Rocback
Exactly. If I want a tablet I buy an iPad. If I want a productivity/gaming computer, I buy a laptop or a tower computer with a massive display. PCs are better than tablets for many purposes.
This is good for windows 8, but I can't see the surface taking off like the iPad. This will create more and more pull-through sales of Mac computers, which integrate with all other AAPL products seamlessly, unlike Windows.

Apple is the only company that can reinvent the wheel and people will actually care. This is why I have a very good feeling about the upcoming Apple TV. Imagine a 1080P or even 4K TV with compatible iTunes content and a 10 terabyte hardrive to store this content and whatever TV programs you choose to. All this integrated with your current devices.
The stock is down due to the self-fulfilling prophecies of the technical analysis universe.
The stock is in a downward trend? Oh that must mean it's going to keep going down to some arbitrary support level. This happens until everybody realizes how ridiculous it's getting and then an upward trend is established and sustained by a technical trend until it's overbought, and the cycle repeats.

Too few apps wasn't really a problem when iPhone and Android first started out... but now there are alternatives that actually have apps, making windows and RIM comebacks hard to imagine.

I disagree that tech won't come under the regulation spotlight. The FTC has been trying to find ways to mess with Google for a while now. They don't like when companies (this includes AAPL) have more information on citizens than the actual government.
You sound like somebody who has been bearish during the whole recovery. Sorry that we have systems in place preventing a catastrophic collapse of our economy!
Sorry but we would be retarded to not use the knowledge gained from the past to keep it from repeating. Inflation isn't bad, get over it.
This is because technical analysis only works because enough people partake in it. If there aren't a million other people seeing the same thing as you, your trades won't work well.
Where was this story 50% ago? Its cover showing a tombstone engraved "R.I.P. PC," Barron's says DELL and H-P (HPQ) will fade from view. Next up for trouble could be Microsoft (MSFT), seemingly cheap at 9X 2013 earnings, but which reported sales at its Windows unit off by a third Y/Y after backing out pre-sales for Windows 8. The world awaits the launch of Surface at midnight on Friday. More winners/losers here. [View news story]

I still think a good 400$ ACER laptop destroys even an iPad in terms of usefulness.
An 800$ self-built desktop is still by far the best value for high-end performance.
After seeing Verizon report it sold just ~650K iPhone 5s in Q3 due to supply issues, Jefferies' Peter Misek thinks only 5M units may have been sold overall in the quarter - he previously believed sales of 8M-10M were possible. But Misek argues iPhone 4/4S sales will make up for any shortfall to his 26M-unit iPhone forecast. Meanwhile, Stifel notes the iPhone 5 is still back-ordered for 3 weeks at Verizon. Apple (AAPL -2.8%) is selling off along with many other tech large caps, and is down 13% from its Sep. 21 high. (earlier: I, II) [View news story]

Once office is released for Android it will be complete. Even legit video games are becoming widely made for Android devices.
