I just sold GOOG today because of those FTC headlines... I'll more than likely rebuy after the string of headlines coming out about it drive the price down more and more. That whole Vringo thing too.

You make a great point. If the links Google puts first aren't helping anybody then they will stop using Google.
The thing is they do help people. Look up how they rank Ad-words advertisements... it's not just who pays the most money, but a lot of it has to do with the content of your website and how well it matches the search phrase entered by the searcher. Google is still in the process of tweaking this as well, so why would they give away information on exactly how it's working compared to other search engines? It's proprietary information.
Google has done more good for the world in the past 10 years than the FTC has.
Inflation is a good thing at this point in time. I know it's hard for a lot of people to accept, but ask any unbiased economist and they will tell you we need some moderate inflation in the 5% range for a couple of years. No way we're paying back the nation's debt otherwise, so get over it and hedge.

18-24 months sounds right to me, but all that time without the iPhone and other amazing smartphones will be just enough time for sprint to really become a giant again as it starts to turn profits.

Is it better than the Galaxy S3 or the Google Nexus? I think that's what this really comes down to over the long run. I can't see Apple always having the best product in the future if this release cycle is any indication.

I'm sick of hearing the whole patent portfolio thing. Google bought mobile phone manufacturer too you know. They've shown their willingness to release devices under their name through partnering with ASUS. Now they can partner with themselves and keep the hardware margins.
