Apple's Starting To Look Attractive Again [View article]
I'm completely out of the market right now, waiting for a secondary correction at least (maybe even a primary trend reversal if Europe finally implodes and sets off a credit-market chain reaction). The only reason I'm not buying AAPL, or anything else here, is because of this risk.
I don't see any point in trying to play the remaining run-up in the market with such a huge downside risk. I can wait for a correction like all smart investors do.

I really can't see earnings going down 20% while revenue is still increasing at 15% per year as the smartphone industry continues to grow... Margins aren't shrinking that fast.
I tend to agree with Richbar - I can't see AAPL ever setting new highs again, and because of that, it is now a broken stock, as many have come to realize.

That's the thing I don't understand about iPhones and iPads being labeled as more expensive... They're not really any more expensive, but are way better for the same price tag (in terms of software at least).
And the Surface Pro tablet is pretty much double the price of an iPad...

@Baozebub
Exactly, that's the problem with Android. People get a crappy android phone and assume all android phones are crap. Then they see somebody with even an older iPhone having no problems. This is my theory as to why Apple stole more than half the sales at every carrier in the U.S. in Q4, which in itself is ridiculous and a good sign that they do indeed have the better product, and it's not even that much more expensive.
I've actually owned high-end Android phones up until just recently and they've all been glitchy and slow.
People aren't going to stop wanting the best/fastest phones, because it's their most useful tool in their day to day life. That means other competitors will have to keep up with Apple's economies of scale, which nobody else has right now except maybe Samsung. Those economies of scale are what drive Apple's insane margins, not just the justified high ASP.
When Apple invents some new technology or manufacturing process and is the only company to have it for a while, that's when they succeed, very much like they're succeeding now.
Those different feelings you get when trying Apple products against other products are the immense number of patents Apple has paying off.

I'm really liking those charts you posted. I really can't see Apple going very much lower, and I feel that most investors are just waiting for the dust to clear right now.
All it takes is one announcement from Apple, which is actually due pretty soon, and that ramp up will be here.

More people are ditching Android now than ever before. I used to be a huge Android fanboy but I finally grew wary of their crap. iPhone actually works whereas Android still feels like a beta phone, even on the best hardware.
I'm a huge tech geek too and actually work for one of the large Android manufacturers.
