I think you may be misunderstanding that the exercise here is to make money. The lawsuits will amount to nothing more than a small settlement to stem further legal fees. You don't have a clue about telecom law or FCC actions. They take forever and all incumbents use them to stop competition. Next, the ambulance chaser firms working together with the shorts are only in it for the fees. They could care less for the shareholders. In the meantime you are holding your short position, paying negative rebate of at least 50% plus thereby evaporating your small 13% gain even if the stock stays the same price. Borislow will be out of stock soon, he is a zero to the right of the decimal point as far as this company goes. That's what the shorts have been counting on, his shares and beating him up in those articles. You don't have him as a punching bag anymore. Good luck with your short, one day you will wake up and be caught in a "stevie cohen special" squeeze that you can't get out of for less than a 50% loss.

AOL is reportedly laying off ~3% of Patch's 1,400-strong staff and (per a company memo) is giving the oft-criticized local news unit a new CEO. Patch COO Steve Kalin is the division's new chief; current CEO Jon Brod will return to AOL Ventures. AOL asserts the changes are aimed at improving content quality/engagement and allowing Patch to make good on promises it will be profitable by year's end. comScore estimates Patch, bogged by questions over how well a business focused on "hyper-local" content can scale, saw traffic rise 26% Y/Y in April to 13M monthly uniques.

Stop the patriotic bantering for the moment, lets find out what BBRY is worth and fix the shorts once and for all, then let the board and any regulator thereafter decide if its enough or a good deal. I say its worth 1.5 todays price as a minimum. I have given my reasons. If FB had any cojones it would make a bid. They dont have the chops that GOOG has and will wither away. Just my opinion. GOOG is great and BBRY will have its day in the sun. Bernstein is catering to the shorts with todays lightweight analysis. Worthless information not even worth the cost of the PR. Thanks for the comments.

BlackBerry Messenger is coming to iOS and Android this summer, BlackBerry (BBRY -4.5%) announces at Live (webcast). Had this move been made 2-3 years ago, BlackBerry would've had a shot at dominating a giant mobile IM market. But now, it faces intense competition from the likes of WhatsApp, Kik, Viber, and Facebook Messenger, many of whom have 100M+ users. Nonetheless, an installed base of 60M users gives BBM a chance to make some headway. BlackBerry is also launching BBM Channels, a platform for connecting to brands and celebrities, and Thorsten Heins promises the iOS/Android versions of BBM will eventually support VoIP and screen sharing.

I think the red herring the shorts are using are the FCC USF issues. The USF is the most hated and misunderstood rats nest in the telecom world. It's ancient and despised by the entire industry and regulators alike. It will be revamped or shut. Meanwhile, the FCC issues are more complex than you have naively described. No one will win outright, besides the lawyers. The LEC's and incumbents use these poor regulators to thwart competition, like CALL. You see the LEC's owe money to CLEC's in something called reciprocal compensation. Although today those terminologies have morphed, so the landscape has become more grey. But CALL has its own set of legal experts who have held the monopolies at bay artfully. This is the nature of the industry. I remember a company in the regulated medical industry called Polymedica. My opinion is they were really ugly. The company was raided by the FBI. Shorts were claiming victory. Do some homework and see what happened. Here's a head start: http://bo.st/11vTJjO
Good Luck with your short position.

Yes, I think your point is a good one. We will explain why we think it's a real possibility. Mr. Icahn has been a very successful activist investor over the years, which is a long, arduous process. He has explained in numerous interviews that small deals take as much work to do as a big one. Last year Icahn struck out on $HLF where there was a large Ackman short position. We think Carl has been bitten by the bug to be behind a historic short squeeze, and he realizes that the bigger ones take longer than the small ones would. Yes, there are other motivations with HLF, but what Icahn said publicly on CNBC sounds to us like a person who may be searching for the perfect candidate to, as we have put it, "shrink wrap". We have suggested $BBRY in the past, and those rumors seem to be swirling again. We then saw him do a similar move on NFLX. We think $CALL is perfectly ripe for it. We have other reasons we like CALL, especially for its strategic values to some other possible acquirers. More on that later. In the meantime, we suggest anyone short $CALL may be in for a rude awakening, like the $TSLA shorts last week.

Have you noticed what he likes to do? He likes companies that are undervalued and over shorted. He can be moving in here without your knowledge. This company has zero bankruptcy risk, positive cash flow, and will make a great acquisition target for any company that can leverage their existing customer base with CALL's products. What's your issue with CALL David?
