I serve as the senior MLP research analyst for CBRE Clarion Securities, a global asset management firm based in Radnor, PA. My primary focus is on investing in Master Limited Partnerships (MLPs) within a larger infrastructure investment team.
Andy Hecht is a sought-after commodity and futures trader, an options expert and analyst. He spent nearly 35 years on Wall Street, including two decades on the trading desk of Phillip Brothers, which became Salomon Brothers and ultimately part of Citigroup.
Over the past two decades, he has researched, structured and executed some of the largest trades ever made, involving massive quantities of precious metals and bulk commodities.
Andy understands the market in a way many traders can’t imagine. He’s booked vessels, armored cars, and trains to transport and store a broad range of commodities. And he’s worked directly with The United Nations and the legendary trading group Phibro.
Today, Andy remains in close contact with sources around the world and his network of traders.
“I have a vast Rolodex of information in my head… so many bull and bear markets. When something happens, I don’t have to think. I just react. History does tend to repeat itself over and over.”
His friends and mentors include highly regarded energy and precious metals traders, supply line specialists and international shipping companies that give him vast insight into the market.
Andy’s writing and analysis are on many market-based websites including CQG. Andy lectures at colleges and Universities. He also contributes to Traders Magazine. He consults for companies involved in producing and consuming commodities. Andy's biweekly radio show, The Commodities Hour with Andy Hecht, can be heard on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-6 PM EST on www.tfnn.com. Andy’s first book How to Make Money with Commodities, published by McGraw-Hill was released in 2013 and has received excellent reviews. Andy held a Series 3 and Series 30 license from the National Futures Association and a collaborator and strategist with hedge funds. Andy is the commodity expert for the website about.com and blogs on his own site technomentals.com.
A stock market investor since the mid 1980s, I have had my share of investment successes and disappointments. Longer term perspective allows insights into the market psychology which I always find fascinating. The big market players hold many advantages over the small independent investors, so to compete it is necessary to look past the headline data and act on underlying shifts in business or market dynamics. Questioning everything adds to a healthy discussion - you can never be sure under which rock lies the gold nugget.
I cover energy, utilities and natural resources for Seeking Alpha, and I help out occasionally with other industry sectors. I've written about investment and personal finance topics for more than 20 years from a lowly copywriter to editor-in-chief, so I've done a little bit of everything. For what it's worth, I have a BA from Duke University and an MBA from Rollins College. I'm married with one daughter, and that's worth more than everything else put together.
I have spent over thirty years in the financial services industry and I am the author of Dead Companies Walking: How a Hedge Fund Manager Finds Opportunity in Unexpected Places, an Amazon Best Book of the Month.

Hello! Welcome to our corner of the internet. Here at Alerian, we love MLPs and energy infrastructure. As an indexing company, we exclusively follow these asset classes all day, every day. They are our bread and butter, our peanut butter and jelly, our ham and eggs. We’re kind of dorks about it. Here’s what to expect: As an indexing firm, you can expect objectivity. As employees, we are prohibited from owning individual MLPs; any skin we have in the game is related to the asset class itself. You can expect transparency. We think that’s one of the only ways to run an index with integrity. We are also citizens of the modern world and value transparency over secrecy. Primarily, though, we’re interested in giving you the tools to make your own decisions. We trust that you’re smart and willing to put in some work to understand MLPs and energy infrastructure. Whenever possible, we’ll walk you through the process and spell out the facts we used to draw our conclusions, so that you are free to draw different ones. We’re stat nerds, too. So you can expect us to wax poetic about data. We’re no longer embarrassed about all those years in math club. In fact, those years of being decidedly uncool have helped us explain the things we love about statistics in ways everyone can understand. You won’t find stock tips here. We’ll talk about interesting developments and trends in energy, let you know how MLPs are exposed, and acknowledge the risks. In the end, your decisions are yours. You won’t find breaking news here. Instead, we’ll focus more on long-form journalism—the kind of writing that takes time to research and analyze. We’ll talk to industry experts, see what they have to say, and pass that along to you. We’ll attend analyst days, read 100-page government reports, track any relevant bills in Congress, build models, and draw diagrams. Whatever we find fascinating, intriguing, challenging, or just plain amusing, we’ll pass that along, too. Ask us questions. Our contributors have dramatically varied backgrounds and passions: engineering, physics, international studies, and communications undergraduate degrees along with some postgraduate alphabet soup (CFA, CPA, MPA, and MSA). We like to come at it from all angles. At the end of the day, everything we do here will be driven by our vision: to equip investors to make informed decisions about MLPs and energy infrastructure. That’s it. That’s all. That’s everything. Welcome Aboard. Alerian equips investors to make informed decisions about Master Limited Partnerships (MLPs) and energy infrastructure. Its benchmarks, including the flagship Alerian MLP Index (AMZ), are widely used by industry executives, investment professionals, research analysts, and national media to analyze relative performance. Over $16 billion is directly tied to the Alerian Index Series through exchange-traded products, delta one notes, and separately managed accounts. For more information, including index values, yields, constituents, and announcements regarding rebalancings, please visit www.alerian.com.

MLPData is the leading site dedicated to providing investors with greater transparency into the full universe of Master Limited Partnerships and fund products. Our belief is that Master Limited Partnership's offer a very unique investment opportunity in light of the transformation of the North American Energy Landscape coupled with the unique tax considerations associated with distributions.
We are an independent and privately owned firm, launched by an entrepreneurial team with decades of experience in providing financial content and investment management services. Our objective is to expand the knowledge and investor interest in Master Limited Partnerships that are publicly traded, and the associated investment products such as Closed End Funds, Exchange Traded Notes and Funds and Mutual Funds.
Power Hedge is an independent stock research and analysis firm with a passion for macro- and microeconomic analysis. Power Hedge focuses our research primarily on dividend-paying, international companies of all sizes with sustainable competitive advantages. Power Hedge is neither a permabear nor a permabull. However, we believe that, given the current structural problems in the United States, the best investment opportunities may lie elsewhere in the world. The firm's strategy is primarily buy and hold, but will stray from that strategy on occasion. Our ideal holding period is forever, however we realize that both internal and external forces can impact an investment. For this reason, we believe that it is vital to keep a close eye on all of your investments. We do not believe in changing an investment based on short-term market swings.
Traditionally, we have not always responded to comments but in order to improve the quality of our research, comments will be reviewed and we will respond to issues regarding errors or omissions. This does not include our premium service, "Renewable Energy Profits," which is available from the Seeking Alpha Marketplace. This service does include detailed discussions with our team both on the reports themselves and in a private forum.

The primary driving force behind 99%+ of the activity on Seeking Alpha appears to be investors' confirmation bias. Do you want to be part of the 99% or are you trying to get to the 1%?

Raised in America, Germany and the UK, I studied inter alia under Nobel Laureate Friedrich von Hayek in Freiburg i. Br., Germany. The next 30 years were spent as a financial economist with leading banks of their day: Morgan Guaranty Trust, J Henry Schroder Wagg, N M Rothschild and S G Warburg. Moving to Hong Kong in 1989, I was the Chief Regional Economist for the latter two banks and a smattering of others.
Affiliated with IAM Legacy Ltd., I now provide especially non-financial professionals with experienced, commission-free financial structuring advice - saving them costs northwards of 90% in the process.
Enzio von Pfeil (http://www.enziosclock.com/) has been an investment economist all of his professional life. Author of books and thousands of research notes, he is a regular guest of Bloomberg-UK and Bloomberg-Germany, and is invited frequently to CNBC and other channels.
