Thanks Chris, I appreciate the feedback.

Account changed from $61255 to $62244 (so I guess I was $10 shy of $1000 after commissions). That was a gain of 1.62%.

If you want to see my turnover (I assume you mean trade frequency and quantity), I can attach the excel doc in an email if you send me a message with your email address. or follow me on twitter and I will tweet it right now

Thanks Charlie! Looks like we were right about continued strength through the end of March.

I have been watching TRLG. It is putting in a nice high base at significant resistance. If it can chop through 30 and 32 and put in a nice bullish set up, I will probably make a long trade in it.

sorry for the super-late comment, but we can look back and see that there was no reversal. We did have major resistance to fight through on SPY, which is what I think you are referring to. Now that we are through that resistance though, I do not see SPY reversing significantly any time soon. Maybe at 118-120 (next major resistance).

I think this can be viewed in a similar manner as sector rotation. When the leaders to the upside turn around and lead to the downside, it is more likely that the trend has changed.

Great article! I thoroughly enjoyed reading that. Not only was the information useful and in great depth, but your style of writing is entertaining. You also have a way of breaking down each concept so that it can be understood simply... I love it...

    Keep up the great work!

You raised some good points Perry. Although the market is forward looking, I don't see how it can expect a real recovery within six months...

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that will not happen.

  • Sure, lots of companies reporting earnings are beating: "One of the single-most overhyped statistics extant given the degree to which estimates move around prior to reports," says Doug Kass, explaining why earnings season is a racket.  [View news story]
While I wholeheartedly agree that the earnings estimates are being beaten because they are set so low, the market usually has a positive correlation to them. The fundamentals have been screaming, "sell" for the entire duration of this 6+ month rally, but the trend is saying, "buy." I prefer a combination of fundamentals and technicals to guide my trading. I lean toward the technical side though. It's all about putting the odds in your favor.

  • David Weidner's not surprised an America sucked in by an improbable boy in the balloon continues to be bamboozled by Wall Street's slight-of-hand. "The 'dumb money' never fail to live up to our reputation as suckers, chumps and easy marks. We keep putting our money in the market, diversifying and looking at the fundamentals of the underlying investments."  [View news story]
just trade the markets technically and avoid the fundamental/economic noise. want what the market wants and you will be profitable

I agree that the chumps who buy in heavily at these levels for "long term investments" (lol) will end up being the bagholders once again

$AAPL could act as a catalyst for $SPY to break the $110 area. $110 is major resistance on the weekly from Oct '08.
