  • Where Is The Upside In Apple? [View article]
With all of it's cash, watch where AAPL goes from here. They want to provide music service. this will provide a revenue stream, based on their many users and their ownership or management of content.

Watch them move in to the video content business next. With all of their users, they will monitize them, somehow.

RIMM, etc have no cash to grow. But AAPL has tons of cash. They can buy Disney, they can buy whoever they want to buy.

  • Reiterating My Investment Theme For Apple [View article]
Apple has enough $ to buy other companies who will give it stream of cash in the future. With their huge ecosystem, they can monitize many things such as music, movies, job seekers, games, etc. Look to see them pick up some content providers in the next year. Then the value of their huge user base will pay off even more. Apple can grow with the times because they have the cash.

  • More on Apple: It looks as if the iPad Mini, premium pricing and all, is off to a decent start: the white model sold out hours after pre-orders commenced, and shipping times now stand at 2 weeks. The black model is still available. Digitimes recently claimed the Mini's relatively high pricing was due to low yields for its cutting-edge GF2 touchscreen tech (previous). If that rumor is accurate (a big if), it could mean a price cut will arrive once yields improve and costs fall. [View news story]

  • More on the iPad Mini: The cheapest model (16GB Wi-Fi) goes for $329. Amazon and Google, sellers of the $199 Kindle Fire HD and Nexus 7, are probably breathing sighs of relief. As expected, there's no retina display inside the Mini, but there is an HD front camera and 5MP back camera, and 3G/4G models are offered (they start at $459). Like the iPad 2, the Mini is powered by an A5 processor. Apple (AAPL -2.2%) is selling off. (live blog). [View news story]
why do they only have 16GB model, why not an 8GB model for $279 or $299

  • More on Apple: Shares are rebounding today with the help of bullish comments from Goldman's Bill Shope, who declares shares oversold. "We continue to believe the best time to buy Apple’s stock is amid periods of supply-centric concerns," Shope argues ahead of Thursday's FQ4 report, while asserting Apple will be able to raise production and meet demand this quarter. BTIG's Walter Piecyk is more cautious, believing iPhone 5 shortages could translate into lost sales. [View news story]
