  • Could It Be That I'm Smarter Than My Broker? [View article]
Well I have never had a broker and only buy dividend payers with DRIPS. So this is a great move on your part. Too bad everyone is not as confident in managing their own accounts.

Yeah, when I see a company drop in price in just mean more share bought through the DRIP (Dividend Reinvestment Plan). So if your portfolio is full of Blue chips this is not so bad of a deal. Because Dividend payers do better over the long run anyway. It is just another way to DCA (Dollar Cost Average).

  • Though Panera Bread (PNRA -2.5%) finds that its decision to offer free Wi-Fi to customers was a big boost to revenue as it beat rivals to the punch, it now struggles to keep up with the burdens of the demand. While charging a fee for access is unlikely to sail smoothly with customers, Piper Nicole Miller Regan says tying premium Wi-Fi to the firm's loyalty program makes sense. The bigger question: Will free Wi-Fi hangouts such as PNRA, SBUX, and MCD lose revenue if truly unlimited mobile data plans take off? [View news story]

    "Burdens of Demand"?

Sound like someone is just trying to make a few extra bucks off the loyalty program.

What is the cost of offering free WiFi anyway?

Well you can institute a time limit to get rid of the squatters. Such a during peak times. I think it is only fair for customers to understand the limits of what a business is able to offer.

  • Premium Portfolios: Is Buy And Hold Dead And Gone? (Part 1) [View article]
"something" I would buy JNJ. But, I already own a ABT, MRK. I try not to overload my basket with more too many off the same kind of eggs. Tech is too volatile for my style. Intel is the one that everyone needs. Microprocessors run the world.

I just need help selling my dogs.

I own all these, except JNJ and IBM. I should have bought IBM yrs ago when I heard someone say it was going to double maybe triple and it has. I think it is expensive now. Still think about adding JNJ to my portfolio. I reinvest all dividends.

  • Dividend Yield Worship Could Lead You Down The Wrong Path [View article]
I may be a member to this cult but I am not blind to the faults of chasing a high dividend. But, I still believe it is a winning strategy to follow. Buffet makes millions from his Coke dividends alone and that is just one of many dividend paying stocks he owns. Plus there are many guides to help any investor along this road. Check the Dividend Aristocrats and Champions to build a base then you can do a little chasing if you want.

Berkshire does not pay a dividend. But, Ask Buffet how much money he makes from his Coke dividends.
