David Beard

David E. Beard, CFA, is founder and CIO of Winterport Capital (www.winterportcapital.com). Winterport provids asset management services for individuals and institutions. Prior to founding Winterport, David co-managed a US equity focused long short hedge fund at portfolio at Morgens, Waterfall, Vintiadis & Co. and managed long only accounts at Trainor Wortham, both based in NYC. Previously he worked at Credit Suisse First Boston as a publishing senior sell side equity research analyst covering the homebuilding industry. Mr, Beard also publishes sell side research on the coal, shipping and E&P industries for Iberia Capital Partners, a division of Iberia Bank (IBKC).

When not immersed in stocks or family activities, David has logged many thousands of miles of open ocean sailing, having cross the North Atlantic twice (as once was not enough), practices his contractor skills at his home in Sag Harbor, NY and enjoys a good mountain bike ride.
