  • What To Do With Silver So Cheap

This technical analyst thinks that this is a bearish drop that could end with silver selling for $5. There are great differences in what the estimates of what it costs to mine stocks, However, whether it is $9 or $20, these are above $5. So, I disagree with this technical analyst and believe that we are near the bottom. Producers will not be able to make money much below this price and will cut production or go out of business. My recommendation is to short ZSL.

  • Can Silver And The Dollar Rise Simultaneously?

The author of this article agrees with me that the US Dollar (UUP, rated "buy") should continue to climb due to reduced imports such as oil and a strengthening economy. Goldman Sachs also agrees with a forecast of a higher dollar.

The technicals for silver (ZSL rated "short") are good.

How can both the dollar and silver do well when silver is denominated in dollars? If the economy improves, both should do well. In a solid economy, industrial metals like silver do well. Also, global investors are more eager to buy dollars to buy stocks and bonds.

  • What To Do When The Dollar Stalls

The US dollar (UUP rated "hold") rose 0.5% to the highest level since 2010. It also is at a technical resistance level. Finally, there is an overabundance of bulls, with 85% in the bullish camp. This likely means that the dollar has hit short-term resistance. Seven of eight times that bullishness has hit 85%, the market retreated for at least a month.

Since the dollar is correlated inversely to commodities, we will take a bullish position in silver. So, cover the shorts in Ultra Silver (NYSEARCA:AGQ). We made 285% since 4/30/2012.
