  • Sovaldi's Q1 Is A Home Run With Men On Base; Why Gilead May Triple From Here [View article]
Very compelling case to owning Gilead, i can come up with many as well... when investing, i like to know the negatives/barriers or potential things that could block it's growth (most important, as this is a huge growth story), and i think long term, those would be competitors (US Gov't pressuring pricing may happen, and it could come down, but company will still grow leaps and bounds with all the people out there who need treatment).

Can you speak about competitors, and the products that are coming out... i've heard a little bit about this, but nothing in depth.

  • Las Vegas Sands Is A Great Stock For Dividend Growth Investors [View article]
No mention of the special dividend LVS paid last year, but that doesn't help support the case of dividend growth over the coming years, unless they continue to pay this out end of year going forward.

  • Apple: An Analysis Using Warren Buffett's 10 Points Of Light [View article]
Don't like how you use different years to supplement your positive theory (even though i am long apple myself).
Chart #1,2 and 4 are is for the same 3 year period 2010-2012
Chart#3 looks at the previous 3 years because earnings were accelerating, even though currently over the past 12 months they were stagnant.

  • Is Apple's Secret Hedge Fund Prepping For A Dividend Boost? [View article]
So much of the money is generated overseas, to use it to buy American listed stock, it would need to be taxed, and at 35% tax rate, it doesn't sound so great...

Speaks words about American Government, would Apple (and other companies for that matter be more willing to do things like this, if the tax rate to bring money back from overseas was closer to 15%-20%)

  • Apple's CEO Discusses F1Q 2013 Results - Earnings Call Transcript [View article]
I believe they said returned to shareholders 4.5 billion, so you have to take the dividend out of there, before seeing how much stock they bought back... by my estimate, dividend was about 2.48 billion dollars, so the share repurchase was about 2 billion.

In previous quarter, i think they said 10 billion share repurchase over next 3 years as guidance

returning 45 billion to shareholders, not just buybacks... dividend is 2.5 billion about/quarter x 4 quarters in a year x 3 years is 30 billion, leaving about 15 billion for share repurchase, although apple does issue many shares to executives every quarter, so the dividend is probably taking up more than the 30 billion (only calculating by today's share count)

  • Reiterating My Investment Theme For Apple [View article]
yes, if you bought apple at 700, 800 isn't the returns people have seen in the past, but as of right now, apple is at 595 about (592.95 to be exact), so is apple worth buying at this level, to go to 800?

IMO yes, that is a 33% return, plus the 2.65/share dividend it will be paying you on the way up

will it increase dividend with all the cash that it is currently hoarding?
i don't see why not... what else will they do with all that cash

will it split the stock, and try and go into the DJIA, as it becomes more of a bellweather of the economy, and not the growth stock that it has been... hopefully opening up to more retail investors looking to buy apple when they never could before, and all the funds that track the DJIA.

YOY growth is still north of 20% in 2012, and will be in 2013, and as Apple grows as a company, people will continue to buy.
Apple right now is trading at about 13... so i don't see apple EPS continue to grow at these rates, but the stock price doesn't grow, and apple will be trading at 10? doubt it... raise the dividend, and people will continue to buy (did not discount cash when doing my EPS calculations, and they are rough estimates, so if apple is at 13.5, throw me a bone)

  • Apple's Next Big Thing: The Upcoming Earnings Report [View article]
Apple cash pile was reported at 117 billion dollars last quarter, and will report this quarter, over 13O billion dollars in cash... discounting that cash by taking it off the market cap <611.74 as of of friday 1O/5>

If apple earns $1O/share this quarter, that brings their 2O12 Full year earnings to 45.49 <this is Apple Q4 being reported>

Using these numbers, apple's EPS discounting it's cash hoard is 1O.6... which is possibly the best value on the stock market when considering the EPS, and the dividend that it is currently paying <2.65/share>

Excellent time to buy, before earnings, i'm a long time shareholder, and every time i see apple take a dip like this, it has just presented a great buying oppurtunity
