  • Lagarde: Global growth will be disappointing in 2016  [View news story]
I wonder how the IMF would have reacted if DSK were still in the chair.

But then, he would have been doing the job that Hollande is doing now, as he was a shoo in for the presidency until the confusing business of the maid in New York City.

I wonder how these last few years would have played without such replacements in charge in France and IMF.

  • Canada Can't Grow  [View article]
Canada could grow. But why should it? Like with the States, few care about the regular people, everyone wants their profit.

At $.30+ on the dollar, Canadian investors are doing well on their U.S. investments. There is no interest in growth.

America has it's profitisation enabler and scapegoat, the Fed, and Canada's excuse is just as ironical: they are afraid they will lose money by trying to grow. They like the handout just fine, s'il vous plait.

  • Nike: Q2 Earnings And Effect Of The Stock Split  [View article]
    95-96... Regardez-la....

With very little else doing really well, and nike's move into China going so well, this could be a year for a back to back split.

I've found the rate of acceleration in August a telling signal for splits int the winter to come.

  • Plug Power: Guide To Upcoming Q4 Earnings And What To Expect From January Business Update  [View article]
I don't fault the author's tone in this latest piece in the least.

In fact he's no longer a bear. He no longer is sure what to think.

Maybe up, maybe down. All depends. That Nike flag isn't helping the thesis that the tech is growing more isolated. Should've mentioned that, maybe.

yup. Jan. will tell the tale, maybe.

It's exactly why this thing darts like a goldfish when it moves. Nobody's sure.

  • Plug Power And Nike Prepare To Dance Together  [View article]
I wondered what that price movement was yesterday... Thanks Matt!

I was hoping Nike was the major shoe company mentioned a while ago. It's part of their cachet, being forward looking while effective and efficient and massively profitable. What better proof of plug's concept does one need?

A nice December. I sure hope the "short it to under a dollar" crowd all get out safely.

    Yup. Sure do.

  • Treasurys catch a bid as stocks, oil, and high-yield sell off  [View news story]
The companies which bought the MBS poison, to protect against balance sheet recession after all the jobs were sent to China because the mass market was a thing of the last century.

What did they get into after the MBS collapse and their bailouts?

Could it have been, oh, I don't know… oil and gas!?!

  • How Plug Power's Captive Financing Subsidiary Will Improve The Balance Sheet And Accelerate Sales  [View article]
The author makes a reference to reselling and releasing off lease equipment.

This is a cogent point. Refurbished gear can service second and third tier businesses, essentially making further income off of what would be only scrap for a first tier business when they upgrade.

We don't agree on who made this mess or perhaps more fairly, how it was allowed to come about, but I certainly deeply respect your calls on the present and short past.

    Thank you for sharing this.

  • Core retail sales top expectations  [View news story]
This is good? An increase of one fifth of a penny on every dollar spent?

Really? A four day Black Friday, and cyber Monday and they can only get .2% out of the mass market?

That's like the jays paying David price his asking (if he'd even consent to play in Toronto) and getting 50 more fans in average attendance.

  • BlackBerry's Successful Move From Survival To Revival  [View article]
    I hope the author's right.

That would make blackberry a hybrid, wouldn't it? Software division for the Internet of things, and a hardware division for the Internet of android.

Or is it that since the iot has flown past, the priv is the next saving throw in a procession of saving throws, bouncing between their vaunted security of software and attempts to float a handset, no matter if it drives a gap in their own operations?

I hope they come back, Waterloo needs the capital.
