  • Lightstream Appears On Track To Nearly Wipe Out Its Shareholders [View article]
it APPEARS on track to NEARLY wipe out...

with those modifiers, any prediction on the stock actually going to zero is rendered meaningless.

my sense is that other canadian oils will go out first.

but the majors lust after lstmf's land. this is not the first time runs have been put on lstmf.

  • Twitter bypasses China ban with Hong Kong office [View news story]
twitter will find it better not to tweak the nose of a giant, i suspect.

putting an office in hong kong could be seen as incredibly impolite, unless permission was sought, beforehand.

twitter and the west itself should not put too much stress on hong kong as a geopolitical tool to mess with china.

just as easily as hong kong was returned to china once that lease ran it's course, hong kong can be made hostile to those who seek to trouble the wah of the party.

  • Apple sets Watch prices; pre-orders start on April 10 [View news story]
that was some excellent post modern industrial porn. those are extremely desirable items.

the watch is the next step, like pc from mainframe and laptop from desktop.

it's the next step in tools. you don't need a pocket. you don't need a free hand or necessarily even a finger...

  • USD/CAD - Poloz Flat Foots Loonie Bear [View article]
the outsize usd/cad pair certainly profits canadian investors who were already in u.s. stocks and us denominated pm's.

and those who bought in later in the run-up will be resistant to anything to strengthen it.

an ounce of gold is currently quoted at $1589 CAD at scotia mocatta.

canada swings into an election cycle and it will be interesting to see if the weaker dollar with it's increased ticket prices on imports for the voting base will have any impact.

  • Tesla: Bonfire Of The Money Printers' Vanities [View article]
it was much better when the corporate welfare was distributed around the military industrial corporate complex, before furriners like musk showed up.

like when mr. raygun started the whole livin large on future generations' dime.

and started the cutting up and starving of the american mass market, the thing which made america great and has since been put to work filling the pockets of those whose pockets are already overflowing.

it was those whose pockets overflow who directed this welfare through their owned or cosubsidised members of congress.

hardly anything to do with civil servants, and most to do with elected officials, their parties, and their paymasters.

let's not blame our pet economist, let's blame his pupil. trickle down and industrial take off are still as correct as the sun coming up in the west... errrr....

  • Ballard Power: Struggling In 'Extremely Silly' Niche [View article]
vw bought plug fc forklifts as well as investing in bldp. proof of concept must be pretty strong if germans, bmw AND vw, have bought in on the gear.

  • Ballard Power: Struggling In 'Extremely Silly' Niche [View article]
vw quotes were before deal was done.

bldp still supplies vw and plug.

    it supplies telecom backup.

it supplies small footprint solutions for rural off grid communities.

it supplies methanol version for places without h (no, dr. benway, not heroin).

it is in the process of being certified for urban us backup power use (methanol to ease concerns re safety).

it is piloting a small unit for use by us military.

bmw toured fc cars with bldp stacks onboard worldwide a number of years ago now.

it was below a buck just months ago.

VERY competitive dezinformatsia battles have been going on between ice and fc and battery advocates.

sometimes very humourous comparisons. my favourites are the ones comparing stationary applications with mobile ones. like comparing trees and fish.
