The iPhone's Next Carrier Is Likely T-Mobile, Not Verizon [View article]
That makes sense.... Verizon spends billions to switch to a lesser technology. WTF! Your relative knows as much as my 3-yr old son knows about what Verizon is planning to do.
The sleeper here (IMO) is RIM. All they have to do is catch up. They created this market....and still hold the top spot.

Why Android Is Gaining Ground on Apple [View article]
You're stupid...
That has been copied. The Big Boy is just like the BigMac... And McDonalds doesn't take claim on beef. McD is the perfect example of being competitive and how to be competitive.
Try another example.

Excuses.... It sure does make it easy to can people when everyone is doing it. AT&T is on the up swing... so my guess is they are using this time to get rid of dead weight.
Adobe still had some left over Macromedia weight to chop.
So where are all these people going to find work??
On Automakers' Deathbed Unions Finally Make Concessions [View article]
Main problem.. They should have never gotten so big.. If we had 10 or 20 auto makers... We wouldn't be in this boat. This goes for all industries... We let some companies get too big and when they screw up we have problems. AIG--TOO F'ING BIG. The size of these companies in my opinion are unamerican. Walmart & Home-Depot TOO F'ING BIG.
Divide them up... create new brands. Which will create jobs.
I hate to comment on union labor because there is pro's and con's to each side... but at some point you have to look at is a union completely needed in this day and age?? Just like Social Security.... there comes a time when you need to ask yourself "is this really needed anymore?" Do we need affirmative action anymore???
A bailout does nothing to save jobs. If cars aren't selling it doesn't matter!!! Maybe they should focus on things that sell?? How many things does Mitzi sell? How about creating high-speed trains to revolutionize our travel between regional cities?
Michael Moore's Curious Economics: Nationalize the Car Companies [View article]
Ok.. This is why I vote as an independent. Perfect example of being too far to the left!
The reason the car companies are getting hit so hard. THEY MAKE UGLY CARS!! I drive a Honda and have for 8 years now. For people under the age of 35... How the car looks is #1. Safety is a distant #2. Besides the F150 all the other autos are way too "uncool" to buy. Who under 60 is buying a Buick these days????
Everyone is getting hit.... but not all car companies are getting hit so hard. The big 3 were losing ground a long time ago.... Now is a good time to ask for a hand out.
Here's a solution... Call Sean P. Diddy Combs and/or Jay-Z and put sexy back into the cars and ppl will start buying them.
Here's one thing..... No one can predict the future.... they only make good guesses based on the knowledge they have.
Any guess about how/when the market will change is just a GUESS. The election could trigger a sound of relief or put us further behind. NO ONE KNOWS for sure.
Those who make money trading futures are just good guessers. And because its more emotional then fact..... Working to change peoples emotions about the future can make trading futures a lot easier.
The average american does not understand what shorting is...... they have no idea how much money people are making off the falling prices... at their expense.
And about the "liberal" comment...... You can't make that stuff up. That chart about the Debt is TRUE. Check out the party lines and Satanic Conservatives say Liberals are big spenders.
Common Sense: My Solution to the Mortgage Crisis [View article]
So I read throught this tread and didn't really get in thing good... until the comment above mine.... C.Gratten. BINGO! That is a GREAT solution to help stop this from happening again.
I am one of those people who could have been hit with a foreclosure. I got a 100% loan with $0 down.... Low inital APR.... and Interest-only. Afterwards.... my business took a huge hit to the cashflow. However, I decided to hold onto the my previous house and rent it out. The difference was.... the increase in APR and the no-interest expiring was covered by the rental income.... that really saved our asses.
I really don't think any party can take full blame. Banks were mainly doing what their function is.... making loans. How were they to know the average wage would NOT increase???
Like C.G says.... if were making the things at Wal-mart instead of importing them.... Wages would be up and this could have been COMPLETELY avoided as people had the money to pay their bills.
Americans spent $440 Billion at Chinese food restaurants last year. You can look up how much Wal-Mart's net revenue was for the year and its no secret over 70% of items are imported.
Let's get back to buying stuff from our neighbors .. supporting small american business.
Where Are the Bank Failures in This Financial Crisis? [View article]
Ok... I m not bank savvy... and I don't even remember how I got to this blog.... and I am making a total guess here.
I think the reason banks aren't failing is become people are focused on ONE product banks offer (Mortgages). In recent years they've been able to get a strong on other revenue streams... Like debit cards, ATM fees, and other bank fees.
So the bank takes your house...which you were paying under 10%... Now your credit is shot.... so now the bank is getting over 22% on everything else you own, car, credit cards,appliances.. and now the bank owns your house. Sounds like bank is making out. Granted a house would yield more profit for the bank after 10 years... but in the short term.... I m thinking the banks would be OK...as they make more off interest and then sell your house in 2 years.... maybe even back to you...LOL
People say "The bank is not in the real estate game...they don't want to own houses".... How could they ignore the potential gain from holding onto these properties until the market goes up?
EU's Attacks on Microsoft Vista are Pathetic [View article]
I don't understand the attacks either.... You're right with just about all your points.
However, I still is a problem with Microsoft's latest release. I think someone needs to explain to MS that security and obscurity are two different things. Security is not a game of dodge ball... where you just keep moving and hope not to get hit.. Thats obscurity!
But thats beside the point.... All the other software vendors today put all their eggs in the Microsoft basket only to find Microsoft has stolen their eggs. Microsoft innovation we all know comes from previous partners success that they've stolen and made their own. Nothing illegal about that.... Its dirty but NOT illegal.
My biggest hang up is WHY oh WHY do vendors continue to put themselves out there to get screwed? They should learn from Oracle, IBM, and SAP.... switch platforms! Oracle runs better on Linux and now you can't find another DB thats better. If all the applications I have to run ran on Linux.....I'll switch. Since Microsoft knows this is the truly the one reason keeping them at #1 ... THEY MUST PROTECT themselves....... you can't blame them for this!!! If they try to keep vendors from making platform independent products..... then that's illegal....and they've been sued for that in the past.
So what are you to do if you're Microsoft?!?! Just sit back and watch the ship go down? Or do something to keep it floating? If that comes at the expensive of a vendors going out of business or seriously hurt sales (ie WinZip)... then so be it.
Now.. the big twist is... Microsoft's big push two years about Linux being free and how it hurts their sales and threatens the industry....LOL. Now the shoe is the other foot and their singing a different tune. Go figure.
Final thought: Vendors should work on being completely platform independent (Win,Mac, Linux,BSD)!!! ..... can you say Sun Java
