  • ECOtality: Drive on the Cheap, Print Money While You're Parked [View article]
Lets see. natural gas IS cheap. If I drive my car to work, say 30 miles and sell back to the power company at peak times (day time) and they take more than 30%, I may not make it home if I stop for groceries etc. Sorry, keep your electric cars and give me one that uses natural gas. Save our country.

  • Video game maker Take-Two Interactive Software (TTWO) -31.5% premarket after warning late Thursday that it wouldn't meet a goal of turning a profit next year. Analyst Todd Mitchell says it indicates broader problems with "accountability," and cut his recommendation to Sell from Buy.  [View news story]
the analyst should get a different job! from buy this to sell this after someone says they will not make a profit. I could make that kind of recommendation. we need rational insight not wild guesses.

  • ABC Consumer Confidence Poll: -45, up from -47 last week, and slightly better than its 2009 average of -48, but still on track for its worst year in 23 years of polling. Just 28% think it's a good time to buy things, 45% rate their personal finances positively, and 9% rate the national economy positively.  [View news story]
"2 out of 3 ain't bad", as the movie says and I'm the 1st two. those under a rock rate the economy positive. those that can see and live in this world know better.

  • NRF's much-awaited Black Friday survey confirms the expected: more people spent less. 195M people went shopping over the four-day weekend, vs. 172M last year, but average spend fell to $343 from $373. "Shoppers proved this weekend that they were willing to open their wallets for a bargain," NRF says, noting the surge in numbers was likely due to cash-strapped shoppers visiting stores early to get the best deals.  [View news story]
bottom line is that more was spent this year then last year. to me it doesn't matter whether 1 person spends $5000 or 5 people spend $1000 the sales are the same. this year people spent $2,629,000,000.00 not bad in my book. and internet sales were way up! (I bought my stuff on the internet)

  • The yuan is too weak, says Japan's finance minister, joining calls from Europe and America for China to let the currency appreciate. Hirohisa Fujii was making his first real comment about the yuan since his August appointment; he declined to weigh in on Japan's currency, after his earliest comments spurred a yen rally.  [View news story]
I can not wait for china to let the yuan float and grow. Have money already in yuan and waiting for my ship to come in.

  • Corporate bond sales in the U.S. reach a record $1.171T, surpassing the previous high in 2007, as borrowers take advantage of low rates to load up on financing. Pent-up demand from last year's credit freeze began to see some relief with a record $385.9B issued in Q1.  [View news story]
Why not just say ALMOST 1.2T instead of 1.171T as if 3 decimal places means we are better off. At over 1T all I say is OUCH!

  • Gartner reverses its 2009 PC sales forecast to +2.8% from -2%, or 299M units, noting Q3 shipments were much stronger than expected. However, dollar sales still seen diving 10.7% year-on-year to $217B due to "unprecedented declines" in ASPs as customers settle for "good enough" - a trend it says is likely to continue.  [View news story]
Why comment on projections if you don't have a clue. -2% then +2.8% but maybe readjusted a little later. Where do they get these people and can I get paid for making these projections? Hopefully, they don't pay these people TOO MUCH!

Times wants Goldman to give "a multibillion-dollar gift to the federal Bureau of the Public Debt... The donation can come from the bonuses; that way, it would not harm shareholders, because they only get their cut after the bonuses are paid."  [View news story]
And what are the chances of the Bureau of the Public Debt getting this billions of dollar gift? Hurry please. I'm holding my breath!

  • Coal ETFs Are at a Crossroads [View article]
He talks as if the KOL etf is all USA coal. China and others are using a lot of coal and are in this etf. I know others don't like it, but I believe our long term energy needs can be met with our coal if we use it properly. Clean abundant coal is possible for us. I like KOL and want to buy it again soon.

  • The Truth Behind China's Currency Peg [View article]
We need to bite the bullet and let the yuan grow while the dollar shrinks. In the long run we will be better off. Now for the reality part. Will either government stop holding hands? The chinese would if we ever stopped bowing to them, but that would mean our government would have to be financially responsible. And what are the chances of that? Are most of the American people financially responsible. I think not.

  • In his weekly address, President Obama warned the U.S. should not return to credit-fueled growth, urging people to spend less and save more, while calling for a greater focus on exports to Asia. He also said it's important the upcoming jobs forum "not undertake any ill-considered decisions, particularly at a time when our resources are so limited."  [View news story]
"at a time when our resources are so limited." what is limited except JOBS? we have plenty of people looking for work, plenty of factories, and plenty of house for sale that the workers could live in. we even have a greater surplus of energy products than before the 2008 crash. maybe he means government ideas and getting it accomplished by government.
