    Thanks Alan,
Again another great read that makes us think beyond just the pursuit of financial wealth. I am with you on almost all the points. It's a shame that people on both sides are potentially not seeing the forest for a few money trees. I am sorry to hear about your wife's condition and I wish her good health.

Thanks Alan for the article. A very funny early Sunday morning read.

I do need some more advice: What would happen if I stashed my $15m in the safety deposit box and the bank was flooded?

P.S. My bank was in fact flooded with Hurricane Irene, but the water did not reach the floor with the safety deposit boxes.

Patience is a virtue. Hopefully, only a few more months before FDA clearance or approval.

If you have any insights on this process, especially in terms of timing and criteria for clearance/approval, please share.

Some insights into growing plants (including marijuana):

Growing up in Bangladesh, I saw marijuana plants grown outdoors in acres upon acres of my paternal grandparents' land (although as a child, I did not understand the significance of this). From what I remember, the plants appeared to be very healthy. So yes, marijuana plants can grow very well outside, especially in a tropical setting.

However, as an avid gardener (for over 20 years now), former science teacher who grew plants for experimentation with her students, and winner of various NYC urban gardening grants, I can tell you that plants can be manipulated to grow most efficiently and effectively in indoor, controlled environments.

The different parts of the plants are just rearranged atoms (mostly carbon, hydrogen and oxygen) obtained from the air, water and soil. Every plant requires various optimal environmental conditions (such as temperature, the amount of light, the availability of specific vitamins and minerals, etc.) for the chemical reactions to occur for the rearrangements.

If we can control the temperature and amount of light in the environment, along with the amount of water, carbon dioxide, and plant-specific minerals and vitamins in the soil (or in the water for hydroponic gardening), we can grow plants to our liking in the most cost-effective and efficient manner. The practical way to achieve this is via manipulation of an indoor environment, such as within a greenhouse. This will be especially important when growing on an industrial scale.
