  • Jim Cramer names EOG Resources (EOG), Anadarko (APC), Occidental Petroleum (OXY) and Continental Resources (CLR) as companies that should benefit from the rising price of oil, "coining money" via huge margins from selling in the international markets. But while domestic oil companies enjoy a bonanza, it's the not the same story for the drillers, he warns. [View news story]

  • Report from Day 1 of Bank of America's (BAC) Article 77 hearing: After several hours of pre-hearing motions - which included a request for delay from the attorney representing the "objectors group" (including AIG) - the hearing got under way. While BofA is the de facto defendant, the actual defendant is BNY Mellon (BK) - the trustee for the 530 Countrywide mortgage trusts at issue. The defendants may want quick resolution, but the Judge told the parties "we're not going to be done with this in June." [View news story]

  • More from CYS Investments at KBW (previous): The speed (page 9) with which mortgage rates have increased in unlike anything seen even during the financial crisis, says CEO Kevin Grant. He muses over whether Bernanke's May testimony (taper) was confused messaging or an intentional market test. The punishment inflicted on mREITs (MORT) is well-known, but don't forget: Refinance activity will crater - gain on sale windfall to banks may be over, home affordability is now diminished, banks will be pushed to Treasurys over credit risk as the ROE on government paper is now improved. Grant's talk (webcast) is one all mREIT investors will value. [View news story]
The networks are building the story, for their own benefit. Look at the Greek Crisis and the domino effect, Fiscal cliff and Sequestration, all basically non-events. Sure eventually America needs to come to a conclusion on the QE. Look beyond the CNBC hype. Now just may be a good time to buy those over sold REITs and high interest rate stocks.

  • Blender Tax Credit Isn't Helping Biodiesel Much [View article]
Sorry guys. As a tax payer I don't like retro tax credits or tax credits period. If private industry can't make it work and at a fair price then it fails and we move on.

  • Smaller medical-device makers such as Cardica (CRDC) are tacking surcharges on to their products or warning of price increases to cover a 2.3% sales tax that came into force on Jan. 1 as part of Obamacare. Larger manufacturers like Medtronic (MDT) and GE Healthcare (GE) haven't explicitly added extra fees but are expected to bake them into contract renewals.

Who says that those tax payers making under $250K will not see higher taxes? This is one tax hitting the older generation right in the pocket book. And that is right now!!!!

Let the facts fall where they may. President Obama hates business's.

  • Cramer's Lightning Round - Verizon Isn't Exciting Anymore (1/18/13) [View article]
Cramer doesn't always get it right. That having been said, "Do your own homework"
I have made "Mad Money" several times listening to him. But I have had those investments on my radar. It was more a matter of when to put the trigger. I did and often bailed before he said to. The method was his. I have read all his books.

  • Treasury Sells Portion Of GM Stake At Big Loss [View article]
This is a rip-off of the American Tax Payer. Who in their right mind would agree to such a deal? "We" the American people would need to get $69.72 to break even. We might as well wait until Hell freezes over. Just another "payoff" to the auto industry by the Obama administration. If Ford was able to make it without taking a nickel and AIG can pay $185 billion back then surely GM can be honest and step up to the plate.

  • Apple's (AAPL -0.3%) recent selloff has been enough to make Jim Cramer turn bullish. "We think this is a buying opportunity for the long term — a 10% discount for a company trading at 10x [EPS], excluding cash," says the animated Mad Money host. He touts Apple's product line and $120/share in cash, as well as early iPhone 5 demand. (Nomura) (Sterne Agee[View news story]
Buy on the dips. Don't try and trade this stock. There is still a lot of room to run.

  • CME Group will maintain its existing position limits regime after a judge - in a major blow to Dodd-Frank - tossed out a CFTC rule aiming to curb commodity speculation. The judge says the CFTC failed to prove caps on speculative bets would do anything to reduce price spikes and volatility (maybe because they don't). [View news story]

  • AT&T: Should I Stay Or Should I Go Now? [View article]
Very well written! Thank you so much. I have also had the same strategy since early last year. My price appreciation is 30%. I am reinvesting the dividends and buying more stock. I have done the same with VZ. Early this year I sold VZ and bought T. The dividend yield rate had about a 40 bp spread at the time. I do hold both VZ and T.

Thanks again for a well written analysis.

  • Without Steve Jobs, Apple Is Without A Map [View article]
I love this conversation .... much to do over not much. One would think that you are all running for a political office. Anyone who would not buy this version of the iphone because of "mapping" issues, sound like all of the boo bears who have shorted the stock or those who missed the fantastic run up. THERE IS A WHOLE LOT MORE IN THIS PHONE.

Yes I'm going to buy two of them after all of the "noise" settles down!

  • AIG's 2013 EPS estimates are cut by Sterne, Agee, which expects the company's buybacks to be less than previously assumed. AIG now falls under the regulatory purview of the Fed, which is likely to take a harder line on capital returns. The retention of a stake in AIA tells the Sterne team AIG is taking a more conservative approach in order to please the central bank. [View news story]
