The Bankers Win Again!
- lower risk borrowers get the higher interest rates
- the higher risk borrowers get the "assisted" lower interest rates
- Big Brother bails out the banks (unlike most other businesses) in the likely event that it should fail
- Those refinancing costs to get the new rates can be rolled into the new loans, which increases the borrowers' debt while also providing near term billion$ in processing fee$ for the lender$.

Now remember that GOLD is a safe haven investment, but it is also considered a risk investment, which is why it either goes up or down with the Euro fears. Isn't this clear?!
