    I have always felt that using food for fuel was poor economic and social policy. It helped the farmers,yes, but hurt consumers particularly in the poor countries.
    Corn based ethanol uses more energy then it produces and harms the environment because of corn's fertilizer and water requirements.
    Brazil uses sugar cane as its base for ethanol is much more efficient.
    Yes it is a victory of sorts for the refiners but at $1.45, refining makes no sense when a gallon at the pump is $3.50. For those who want to maintain high RIN prices let's allow the refiners to simply add the RIN prices as a surcharge at the pump. It is an easy policy to make somebody else (refiners) pay.

    Any thoughts or suggestions on hedging an income portfolio primarily consisting of MLP's? The majority of my equity holdings reside in my 401(K) so my overall portfolio is diversified.

    I like your comments. My one concern is if the crack spread returns to a more normal spread. I assume but do not know for sure that their products typically have a wider spread then gasoline and other distillates.
