  • OncoSec's And Ziopharm's IL-12 Targeted Delivery Systems: Which Will Succeed? [View article]
I got a folder in the mail touting it. Very like other ones I've received. I saved it for some reason. I looked at it later. The stock had gone up up up and then it had gone down down down. I drew a conclusion, but the info in the folder caused me to take a look at it, and I was impressed by what I found on current events in the company. I bought, sold, bought again, it doubled, I took out my stake, and I am still in playing on casino money and rooting for them. It's the only one of the promotional flyers I've ever paid much attention to, much less bought the stock.

ONCS was a pump and dump that I looked at after the dump, and actually liked the story. I bought some in July, 12 at .266. Bought some more last August at .30. I just got out at .32 with a 10% profit, because I was going to income in my portfolio, but looking again, I really *do* like the story enough to hang on for the speculation. I'll go back in, even though I've lost a nice bump.

I see some speculation that the current owners are holding it to lend to shorts at high rates. I further speculate that most of the buyers these days are covering their shorts.

I just tested a short just for fun. Schwab wil not short it, and outside scarce stock lenders will lend stock if you want to short a minimum of $50K. I didn't try to find out what the interest was, but a year or two ago, it was high enough for an article to say it wasn't worth it.

Considering that I'm already in from the pitch on Mad Money, and that it was a spec for about .15% of my capital, I'm staying in. Besides, my niece is fighting forest fires.

  • CenturyLink: How A 7% Yielder Hit Into A Triple Play [View article]
It's under 1% of my dad's living trust for my benefit. I get the income, my kids will get the break-up of the corpus. Trying for about 50% income, otherwise growth. I'm down about 3% on this. I was tempted to stay in for the 7% yield and the buy-back; but the arrant stupidity revealed by this post, (fortified by Cramer's twitter that the management are nitwits) convinced me that I should take a look at the after-market trading and maybe dive out the window ASAP.

The CEO was happy as a clam about the opening on CNBC. He didn't want to overprice what he saw as the proper value.
