Lost Money on Cisco: Why We're Not Worried [View article]
Neteng, I've seen you post this response in a few places.
Am I correct that your assumption that Cisco as entire company is in transition because: 1. Top of rack switching (which represents less than 15% of the switch market) is being pulled either directly into UCS or HP VirtualConnect/Flexfab... systems?
2. Cisco is in the server market? (Of which much has been written)
It's clear the datacenter network is changing rapidly and the SAN market will change, but in the grand scheme of Cisco those two points and the margins associated with them don't represent nearly enough revenue to make your point.

Hi Greg,
Thanks for the shout out on Juniper and JUNOS. The JUNOS story is interesting when it comes to enabling network automation, but the rubber doesn't hit the road on network automation and orchestration until you get to JUNOS Space.
JUNOS Space is a relatively new platform that abstracts application developers from the multitude of network devices that they need to influence to accomplish a task. Those tasks might be connecting datacenters with an L2 connectivity with VPLS for vMotion, consistently setting a security policy across an infrastructure, or simply removing the first "20 questions" from a support call.
Google "JUNOS Space" for more details. Cheers and keep up the good work.
