  • This Undervalued High-Dividend Stock Is Beating The Market And Has 6 Straight Dividend Hikes [View article]
I am a bit confused about this industry; is the definition of a skilled nursing facility that of a nursing-home which provides long-term care of the aged or one in which provides short-term skilled nursing services post hospital exit? My understanding is that the latter is paid for by Medicare while the former is primarily funded by Medicaid! My understanding is that the majority of long term nursing home's residents are Medicaid recipients... if so, is there not a great risk of this type of Medicaid funding being severely reduced in the future due to 'budget constraints'? It then follows that many of these long-term nursing home facilities face a very uncertain future? Can anyone help in this area? Thanks........

Right, and I "assume" the gold-miners such as NEW would be on a buy list if it appears the market demise is imminent!

  • Stocks: Hold Until Death Do Us Cross? [View article]
Don't know how germane this is to your discussion, however, out of curiosity I ran a scan on the S/P 500; criteria MovAvgCross 50 DSMA crossing under 200 DSMA and found zero stocks with that crossunder. Using the 100 DSMA in the 500 that displayed that 'death-cross', only MA showed up! Are we overbought or what?????

If one believes SLW's price will remain 'stagnate for a time', why not add a little income to that assumption by STO puts on SLW.... maybe look at some Fib-retracement prices for various strike prices!!

"Term limits" and serious "tax reform" would go a long way in restoring our faith in America's long term health.... unfortunately, it appears most of our legislators are more interested in retaining their jobs than addressing term limits and tax reform!

  • AbbVie's Testosterone: Impact Of Health Concerns [View article]
Mark, I am a 'fairly healthy 71 year old male' who has maintained a pretty constant exercise routine during my life. Of course, I have slowed down a bit from what I could do at your age. So I tried the product, with my doctor's ok, for about 6 months; I really could see no benefit from the product during those 6 months. My point: as one ages, maybe Mother Nature slowly turns down our "T" levels for a reason..... and trying to pump it back up as we age may not be the panacea some believe it is! If it helps you, good; but, make sure that you remain symptom free from some of the reported problems associated with long-term "T" use thru frequent 'health-checkups'. Good luck.

"Higher quality fast food" equates to higher prices! The widely documented economic descent of America's 'middle-class' equates to less disposable income to be spent on "higher quality fast food"! MCD stands ready to continue to offer this economic group acceptable products they can still afford! No one does it better than Micky-dees... in my opinion.

  • Was 2013 The Best Year Ever For Stocks? [View article]
As with Twse57, I remained too cautious with all of the 'year-end top-talk' and stayed mostly in cash..... the questions is; will conservative investors such as I, who scorned the 'buy-the-dip' strategy, now abandon such, and go all in on the next dip...... which then turns out to be a vicious bear-trap! I guess that's what "stops" are for! I remain confused...... maybe gold-bars are the answer for now.... good article, thanks.
