If they do engage in any discussion, they do not answer direct questions...just as Ms. Whitman failed to provide any sort of answers to Heath Terry's questions above.

As of today, August 1st, the Store sellers are 'up in arms'. An exodus has already commenced and of those that intend to stay, they are planning on curtailing their eBay Store stock. They certainly aren't planning on putting those items up for auction - as Unemployed stated above, the sell-through rate is horrible and sellers know it is a no-win situation. Not to appear contrite, but the Sellers have no idea why ebay is doing this...this FEE HIKE manipulation. The eBay Exec's state it is to regain a better mix of auctions to store items, but that is not what will happen. And, they had to have known that.

If they wanted fewer Store items, all they had to do was to put those Store items back into the main Search Results like was done in the Spring. (oh yes, that's why those numbers looked so good in Q1 & Q2) Sellers reported a Sell-through rate of 70%+, a far cry from the dismal 40-45% that the current ebay produces.]]>

eBay Listings Off to a Strong Start In 3Q06 http://seekingalpha.com/article/14462-ebay-listings-off-to-a-strong-start-in-3q06?source=feed#comment-55797 55797
The entire Pacific Rim eBay community enjoys "NO Fee" Stores and Listings. That is NO FEE for what on every other site, requires considerable expense. To be fair, those Fee-Free Asian sites do pay a Final Value Fee (FVF), but don't expect that to bring in much revenue.

You see, those industrious sellers know how to manipulate their own financial gain! All it takes is to sell the item for 1-cent and charge a high shipping cost. The FVF is charged to only the selling price, not to the shipping cost. So, just what is the FVF on 1-cent? $0.01 X 0.05 = $0.00

Oh, a few side benefits of this type of "Market Flood" is that American buyers are duped, ebay.com is saturated with cheap goods and those Listing Quantities look GREAT!]]>
