  • Wynn Resorts Crushes Estimates; Thanks, Macau [View article]
There is an opportunity with WYNMF for long term investors that does not come along too often. The majority owner (Steve Wynn) is the best operator of casinos in Las Vegas. That aside this operation with it's location and dedicated customer base is poised to benefit immensely
    off that customer's leisure habits.

For now I bought it, I hold it, and I do not worry about what I don't know with Wynn at the helm.

  • An annual supply contract beginning today between Xstrata (XSRAY.PK +1.3%) and Japan's Chugoku Electric prices thermal coal at $130/ton, up more than 30% from last year, and a new record. Often overlooked, thermal coal rivals oil and natural gas in global importance. Thermal coal producers.  [View news story]
What is there not to like about the entire Coal complex ?

We find the source of the:

    cleanest burning.
    the best proven reserves.
    the most effective in extraction.
the best to melt iron ore etc.

And after that exercise we buy BTU !!!!!!!!
And some MEE and PCX and..........

Goldman Slacks must have shorted BTU
to downgrade.Too bad their action (GS)
did not really effect the BTU price making
    BTU a "steal".......

  • Noble (NE) contracts with Shell (RDS.A) to move a deepwater rig from the Gulf of Mexico to Brazil, and expects that more would follow, which "may at some point impact the broader deepwater market." The previous contractor, unaffiliated Noble Energy (NBL), bowed out due to a lack of Gulf permits.  [View news story]
    Cincinnatus,

Give this crew (Administration) some more time and I will wager that they will show those who listen as many moronic and absurd maneuvers that one can stand.

Thought the foreign give-aways were under control ? Well, follow
Ms.Clinton's footsteps out of "meetings" with the ingrate Heads of State and ouch !!!!!!!!

"Never let them see you sweat" !

Can I get some water over here ?

Lawmakers have been putting pressure on web companies to make a clean break from WikiLeaks after the site's recent, embarrassing data dump of classified diplomatic cables.  [View news story]
This SOB should be charged with treason as should any contributor
    of docs labeled CLASSIFIED.

What the hell does the *Washington, D.C. rank and file have to do with this heinous breach ?

*Beside their own transgressions (that the voters can deal with)
most of them are too dumb to know a problem if it hit them in the

  • Wynn Resorts: All Risk, No Pot [View article]
    Mr.Rankin,

I could not agree with you more on Steve Wynn.

A few weeks back I bought some WYNMF with little to go on other than the Wynn name, the location of it's operation and the gambling volume inherent in the Orient.

I bought in @ 1.85 and saw a week close @ 2.30.And this froma guy who frowns at 20.00 or below stocks !

Sure,it's a "flyer" but after a decent year for the writer.......

On the exit of GS,UBS & MS from their long positions ....I can not simply assume that they went out because they saw trouble ahead.

I will search around to see what facts I might find on the sales of CHL.

If anyone knows please post up on that notable change.

    Thank you,

If it were more than a "rumor" and the reason for the action not given it would send gold toward the roof before cooler heads prevailed.

That was easy.........but I must add that rumors alone can carry more impact, at times, than fact.

Me ? I won't go near the stuff now as I was most fortunate to catch the wave early and exit left when the mining stocks did not follow suit.

Anyone without Hedge Fund money (very deep & other people's) should not be around this highly potential killing ground.

Turned into a contribution.......no answers for the serious."Hey Tom ! Tell us something we don't know "!

    Good trading my friend.

  • Netflix's Streaming Service in Canada Could Have 40% Margins, But Market Size Small [View article]
Thank you for such an informative post.

As I am in the same camp as Mr.Maru the effective entry and all that
entails is the benefit that NFLX will garner before they expand out.

  • The Slumping Economy Is Good News for One Surprising Sector [View article]
NFLX next step could prove to be the catalyst to continued and accelerated growth with IP content front and center.

It does not appear that NFLX will stall in growth and revenue should the IP effort prove successful.

One large cable provider (VZ) is publicly very concerned about how NFLX would fair in the Cable's own backyard.

I own them both as I do not wish to be out front of the
    Fear Zone.

  • Annaly Capital: Time for Caution on This Dividend Paying REIT [View article]
    Thank you John..........

Too often we may get too comfortable with a position and simply expect "same old".

While I have a position in NLY it is not sizeable enough nor will I commit enough to make much money on a trade on pull-backs.However, I feel I must be extra diligent with NLY as the yield is my only attraction.

The historic range of NLY is another consideration.

I look forward to your future posts.

  • The Real Lesson From Current Goldman Sachs Bashing? Caveat Emptor [View article]
    Drogan.............

Your piece reads as if you were addressing "The Little Sisters Of Charity" .

If there is anyone active on these Boards who does not understand Caveat Emptor and apply it as well *(when possible) I'll eat my hat or move to Leningrad. Your choice !!!!!!!!!!!

If we are able to simply to put aside your self-righteous tone or manage to ignore the sophomoric conclusions therein ( I have.Thank you) we can as others have started give you some enlightenment.

Certainly, GS is in the business daily of producing quickly and effectively what many other Investment Banks could only wish for.
"Gee Tom ! Why do you like GS so much as a prime holding in your Financial Stocks" ?

What you miss by a mile is what the sleeping policemen at the S.E.C. want to determine without the meek request for memos,
E-mails,discussions within, that would invariably be met by a
litany of stalling tactics and subsequent court
    appearances laid out by GS.

What the S.E.C. wants to determine is how
the instruments were structured,to whom sold (other than Paulson),and some other issues that bear much closer investigation. E.G.. Did GS front run the Markets in any fashion convinced that their own creations would be
so successful, did GS target certain institutions
wherein the pain caused benefits to GS, did the GS synthetic structures aim to push competitors to
    extinction ?

Where is "The Fly On The Wall" device to
assist us in determining whether or not more
    work need be done ?

That's just for starters pal......Caveat Emptor
then can not be a blanket approach lest the public and other Institutions obey the "Hands Up! " command
followed shortly by "Throw all your money
    in this bag or else........"
