Apple Envy Seizes Microsoft

I wish the marketplace were free to decide whether Vista will sink or swim on it's own merits. But as long as nearly every new PC sold comes bundled with a Microsoft OS, their customer base will continue to grow. Unwittingly, perhaps even unwillingly. I can't wait for the day when the operating system is choosable at purchase time. Until then, the bundling of the OS will continue to stick out as a sore counterexample of a free market, and example of one of the defining attributes of a monopoly: high profits, low quality.
