Due to layoffs and other issues, this is the year people start pulling out of their 401k's and other investments simply to live. Much of this money will come out of the market. When five or six people do this it is irrelevant. When a statistically significant number do, it is a different story.
I have two Gmail accounts and two Hotmail accounts. My Hotmail accounts ARE my garbage accounts, each for a specific type of garbage.
Meanwhile, as a musician who uses a computer as the center of my sound system/practice experience, I use Winamp. I've tried to use Windows media player. I've spent literally hours trying to teach myself the user interface, figuring that once I fully understood it, I would like it. But I STILL have no clue how to simply add a file or folder to a currently playing song list. For Winamp, it is a piece of cake. For winamp I can use my keyboard to navigate through songs and songlists. For Microsofts media player. Fuggitabout it.
I also went to Firefox two years ago. I am required to use IE at work but after using both 50/50 for two years now, IE sucks.
Then there is the overhead in Vista (I embraced all other operating systems by MS but VISTA has me trying to buy a laptop and then just loading XP Pro on it). And I live in the Seattle area and several of my friends work for MS...
