    Understand the sentiment
Similar to the thoughts of the average roman in 475 AD

Or the famous story of a young man watching queen Victoria's jubilee parade in the late 1890's, recounted in the 1950's, that not one man in a million watching the parade, would have predicted or believed that the empire would have disappeared in less than one generation.

When I raised a somewhat similar point regarding the eventual implosion of fiat currencies, the author responded with the examples, amongst others, of the US dollar and the Swiss franc.

Now my understanding that the dollar has lost much of its value over the past 100 years but the Swiss franc seems to be a much different animal. Perhaps that's because it's the currency of a country long thought as the model of fiscal probity.

Has not the dollar lost in excess of 90% in less than a relatively short 100 years ??

The Swiss franc is a very interesting response that might be the exception that proves the rule.

Enjoyed the article and have no idea what the price of should be

However, could the author provide an example of fiat currency that did not ultimately become worthless ??

    Thanks

Avi: From a macro-historical standpoint, and I do realize that the markets can remain irational longer than one may remain solvent, what are your thoughts on the 100% eventual failure of each and every fiat currency ?? This in an environment of explosive credit expansion Japan, China. the EU and of course the good ole US of A.
