Dont forget that 'consensus' can move between now and earnings, like it crept up last time.

My comment before still stands: you have made no effort with regards to any analysis of value in ARCP. Based on either article, the reader has no way of knowing whether its over valued or undervalued.
Also, yield is a function of price, but has little to do with the ability to pay a dividend. The idea that they will be "cutting the dividend soon" based on a high yield is silly.
Lastly, a long slow decline of 15% from overly frothy levels isn't telling you very much. Your purchase price and cost basis after dividends tells you exactly what its worth. Not some chart with two abstract points in time.

Its not Oracle using memory, its Oracle's customers.

This is good. Unload a risky part of the portfolio and get a cash infusion. Maybe this will hold off another secondary for at least 4 months. :P

Oracle's is, to quote Ellison, "flipping a switch". Microsoft's is like c-struct, and apps will have to be re-coded to take advantage of it. I agree that it and Hana are boosting dram usage. I think SAP's product needs to come down in price. I think we are talking a longer term window.

I strongly disagree with Winslow: "that just moving data off of hard disks and onto SSDs does not produce desired levels of performance."

This is entirely dependent on the application. Storage is cheap, and getting cheaper all the time. A lot of times, "good enough" logic rules. This is why Fusion I/O had issues selling expensive cards when SSDs based systems became more prevalent.

We tested IBM and NetApp flash systems, and in most cases with cubes, saw ~50% improvements +.

I think CS 's small percentage on in-memory is reasonable, but it might take a bit to get momentum. Oracle is not cheap and apps will need to be tested.

Long MU stock with a large and now negative cost basis position. In and out of options with big profits thanks to the SA MU bull crew.

Incidentally, you could title this article "Why I Am a Short of SAP". This will give Hanna a run for its money; they will eventually have to support 12c. Never go head-to-head against Larry Ellison.

RE: ARCP, over that time frame they did massive acquisitions with multiple secondaries. On top of that, there was a bit of frothiness last year in REITs. Not to mention the most recent offering that covered Red Lobster. The weakness in price could be easily attributed to that.
While your statements about big print/small print are true, I would like to see deeper analysis into a fair value price, with metrics like P/FFO, etc. Zaks opinion as a single source isnt exactly deep analysis.
Monthly divs keep the shorts away and picking up more shares on reinvestment at a cheaper price. I am holding.
