  • 5 Dividend Stocks That Act Like Money Machines [View article]
I agree with the above author. I bought this sucker back in April of '11. The price was fourty. This is a depleting aset. It goes to zero. The dividend goes up and down according to price and volume. I want a asset thar grows in value, has a great divd, with divd. and or better distribution increases in the future. Not no, but #### no! If we sold out now for the price per share and divds. received we are down $2000. Figures don't lie. Not considering MMP has almost doubled since we bought it in the same time frame!!!!!!!

  • This Energy MLP Is Extremely Attractive [View article]
LoachDriver, do not be afraid to load up with EPD. They are a great company and you know it. Go back to their annual report. Read what they are doing and where they have come from. Look at their growth for the last six years and distributions. However, there is nothing wrong with diversification. If you want another winner go with MMP or SXL. PBA will be a good one in the future if you want to wait. I also believe MMLP will work out. We own all of these great companies. Look at PAA also. Now is the time for all. Also, EPD pretty much gets the business confirmation to do what they want to do then go build the infrastructure. Lord bless your hunting.

  • SandRidge Energy: New Board In Action - Quick Read On The Company's Update [View article]
Ahhhhhaa, boys and girls this story is just like watching the soap "The Young and the Restless. It just goes on and on and on, it doesn't get any better, each week just gets worse and worse, and they don't get rid of the hated players fast enough. I want to get out when it gets back to $10 or $11. Somebody should be laughing.

  • A Closer Look At Magellan Midstream Partners' Distributable Cash Flow As Of 4Q 2012 [View article]
Thank you Ron for your article. As always you teach me something. Even though MMP might be low on distribution %, it makes up for it in price appreciation. Since Feb of 2011 MMP stock price appreciation has been approx. $1.90 per month and this does not include quarterly distributions.

  • Energy Transfer Partners (ETP) -3.8% AH after announcing a public offering of 12M common units. ETP says it will use net proceeds to pay down debt and for general partnership purposes. [View news story]
This is how MLP's survive. Issue new stock, pay down debt or buy new business or parts of one. Stock drops, (buying opportunity), ebitda increases stock rises divd. goes up. In this case stock has been rising Good sign hang tight. I would guess a distribution around the corner.

  • Northern Tier Energy: A Strategically Located Refiner With A 20% Yield [View article]
Thank you taxman100. If Keystone is built, that could be 1 or 2 years couldn't it. Time for some distributions. Also the Canadian Railroads are gearing up to haul the stuff to America. I wanted to get in late last fall, but didn't have the conviction or maybe the guts. I dunno. They all seem to have outages at one time or another. It will either be LINE, VNR or NTI. Good hunting all.

  • Northern Tier Energy: A Strategically Located Refiner With A 20% Yield [View article]
I have been wanting to add a refiner. Do you all think this would be a good one to get into. It looks like on the surface for long term this would be a good one. Location, ability to buy crude at a great price, crack spread is wonderful. I figure even if they cut the distribution in half, still good. Pros and cons please.

  • Make Lotsa Profits With MLPs: Focus On 'Yield On Cost' [View article]
George I agree with the basic promise of your article. I own both and when I had known the outcome I would have put every penny in MMP. While you are at it throw in SXL at the same time. We all can't invest in wonderful stocks at the same time, but we can try. A solid good well run company coupled with price appreciation and growing distributions is hard to beat. Unless you don't care for this idea, go buy SD.

  • Chesapeake Granite Wash Trust Is A Strong Buy, Part I [View article]
Brucejfern, you are right on the money with your comment. I got into MVO at fourty. Then I find out that this a depreciating asset to zero. I want a asset to appreciate in value over time as well as to throw off a good divd. or distribution. I had also bot PER last year, but I am out of that one. My only hope is to wait for some distributions back to zero or take a loss. As far as I am concerned go buy MMP or SXL instead. Look at these charts the last five years or so. Good hunting all.

  • Analysts think Pembina Pipeline (PBA +0.9%) has more room to rise even after its expansion into pricier fuels such as propane and ethane has helped it generate the best total return among Canadian peers this year. With the expansions, PBA "cements” its position as top provider of fractionation services in western Canada, and is "starting to look like the Enterprise Products Partners of Canada," FirstEnergy Capital says. [View news story]
I agree whole hardly with the two above gentleman and plan to buy more. They will be a money maker, both in price appreciation and in distribution growth. Go PBA

  • Magellan Midstream Partners (MMP) says it has started storing crude in tanks at Crane, Tex., the origin point for the Longhorn pipeline, which it expects to start transporting crude by mid-April. The line, which had carried refined products, has been reversed to transport crude to Houston refineries and could help ease a glut of oil at the Cushing delivery hub and support local prices by opening the door to new buyers. [View news story]
What a wonderful company. Helping to get America's energy going. Better yet a company with the know how to make money for stock holders. I once wrote on another blog how it has had two stock splits. Some one said how does stock splits increase value? Well for one answer, at a certain point this stock has already seen this price once. Thank you MMP, keep up the fine work. Long EPD, ETP, PBA, MMLP, MMP. Looking to buy one more. Any ideas out there?

MMP is a wonderful company. Great leadership. Also it has had two stock splits. We caught one at about 90. This would be the last one I would sell. Long EPD, ETP, PBA, MMP, MMLP.

  • The outlook for MLPs is rosy, according to Elvira Scotto, a director at RBC. In a report on the sector published by The Wall Street Transcript, Scotto says that thanks to low interest rates, MLPs have ready access to capital and can thus easily fund growth. This is good news for yield-starved investors as MLPs offer handsome payouts. Previously: MLPs will outperform even if rates rise. [View news story]
I am long MMP. What a great company. As far as the tax change goes, forget it. It takes billions and billions of dollars to make these great companies. That is why Pres. Reagan approved these things. If they take away the tax change, people would flee these companies like a bunch of quail heading for the timber. The only REASON the morons in D.C. would do this would be to make the U.S. fail as an energy producer.
