    SanDiegoNonSurfer,

What do you think of EHI, looks like a crossover of ESD and AWF (or HIX), has more leverage (24%), also higher distribution in excess of 9% and no ROC?

  • Is The Gold Market Manipulated? Part 1: Introduction And The London Gold Pool [View article]
    Interesting Times,

Of course I didn't pull it out of a hat...I looked into my crystal ball!

If in September 2011 I told you the gold would trade at $1300 in 2013, you would have said I picked the number out of thin air...

You may not like my prediction, but gold at $600 in 2015 would be a great opportunity. In meantime, sell your gold to spare your pain...got puts?

  • What Are Reasonable Gold Market Expectations? [View article]
I wholeheartedly agree with your piece Jeff!

Looking forward to some stupid-cheap prices of 400-600 USD for gold and 10 USD for silver by next year, unless we see some clear signs of trend reversal.

Until that time, will get some cheap out of the money silver and miners call spreads, just in case of a bounce.

  • Is There A Massive Head-And-Shoulders Bottom Forming For Gold? [View article]
    Tim,

Interesting article, but several observations (looking at GLD weekly chart):

    1. The inverted head and shoulders would be expected on a downtrend, but gold so far has been in an uptrend.

    2. The weekly closing low for the 12/26/11 (left shoulder) was 152, and the weekly closing low for 5/21/12 was 152 (the head), so this invalidates the head and shoulder formation!

    3. The volume on the right shoulder was heavy so far, one would expect a lighter volume here.

    4. The chart pattern looks rather like a triple top which would be confirmed by a closing below 152, while it would take a close above 180 to confirm the head and shoulders.

  • The Decoupling Has Started [View article]
"If all three markets (stocks, U.S. currency and bonds) go down, there has to be another part of the market that goes up.
I observed that the money is now flowing into Asia. Several Asian markets like Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong (Chart 4), Shanghai are making new highs as we speak. Australia (which is tied to China) is making new highs. The Hong Kong (Chart 5) and Shanghai real estate markets are making new highs."

Interesting observations, you are noticing that the money are flowing to Asia and you are describing a region/country rotation in a global flow of money, but you call it decoupling.

Furthermore, you are concerned that QE3 is creating money out of thin air and those money, you think, are flowing to Asia, and you call it decoupling.

Would you be kind to give a definition of the economic decoupling!?

After all, what John Connally said about the dollar.... "is our currency, but your problem" appears to apply to what you describe!
