  • Apparent Connections To A Convicted Stock Promoter: Another Chapter In The Organovo Saga [View article]
Given the incessant belly-aching (and worse) from the longs it's not a bad idea to maintain ones anonymity. Shorts are a small minority in a vast ocean of often dumb but angry longs.

Citron has a huge following and his problems were many years ago. The reason so many people follow him is because like Pearson he's got a good track record.

And all it takes for ONVO to publish an 'article' is a willingness to pay the good people over at Retail Investors Forum, or an in-house writer to put on their website.

You guys are never bothered by pump pieces but that's just the hypocrisy of the long mind.

Yes especially since ONVO's already proven they can't really sell the liver assays either, lol. Why not add more science projects to the shelf?

  • Digital Ally's "big announcement" proves to be a golf sponsorship [View news story]
There's no way to spin this insignificant news as a non-market moving event since prior to its release it was exactly that; it moved the market up 17% (AH was busy with the stock trading in the mid 14's) on speculation that the 'news' would be big and drive it even higher. Now that it's clearly not those who overpaid Thurs will on Mon try to find someone to share in the loss though that seems rather unlikely (most likely it opens in mid-12's where it was Thurs morning). Worse it introduces an element of having been tricked by DGLY which leaves a bad FU feeling among traders.

My bet is that DGLY sinks into 11's and 10's as sentiment turns against it.

In a word y'all got punked. No two ways about it. Everyone expected that a police dept order would be the news. Instead there was no reason to make a big special event out of announcing the purchasing of naming rights to a local Kansas City PGA tournament. It's certainly nothing that would equate to a $6M increase in the value of this company (one hopes they didn't spend more than $25K for the endorsement).

Presumably a few people left GTC buy orders over the weekend and those will be the ones to hit at 7 am Monday when premarket trading starts.

This 'Retail Investor's Conference' joke is the kind of forum where longs get fresh ONVO puffery. Why even bother looking at SA since you're not interested in hearing anything that doesn't confirm your bias?

Dig in . . . Keith is going to say all the right things and you'll never have to worry again.

This is different Rat. Otoh you have ONVO CEO and serial stock-seller, Keith Murphy, claiming that their 3D liver assays are 'revolutionary' 'disruptive' 'huge market', 'we're the only ones', yada yada yada, and otoh you have the pre-eminent big Pharma; Pfizer, the kind ONVO would looooove to associate with, saying basically . . . 'we looked and not so much, in fact we think Insphero has a better 3D liver assay'.

So you have to ask yourself who you gonna believe? Cheerleader Exec Officer Murphy or Pfizer?

I'm happy to take the Pfizer position every day of the week! And in fact it's paid off in spades - and will continue to do so - as ONVO follows a pattern of no sales and lower highs and lower lows on our way back to the OTC market.

Did you ever ask yourself why Pfizer, after giving ONVO $1M for a 'first-look' at the liver assays in 2012, got them, looked, and then was never heard from again? That is until they showed up as a client of ONVO's competitor Insphero.

ONVO has absolutely cratered since Pearson and Left predicted that this company is an empty suit. It's gone from a high of 13.50 down to 3.50 in 18 months. If that doesn't prove they were right what would?

  • Carl Icahn Says 'Jump' And The Market Asks 'How High?' [View article]
I don't follow all your picks Ed but it just turns out that we trade some of the same symbols and DGLY has been one notably wrong call so far.

As for Icahn he picked up shares at 1.35 so, yes, he has far less to lose than the daytraders you're encouraging who gaga-like bought initially 180% inflated shares. As to your second point that he has far more at stake - because his cost average is much higher - yes that was my point too; that his involvement five years ago did not make this a good investment then either so your argument that his backing guarantees positive results is fallacious.

Of course when you're a billionaire this is all chump change anyway and I doubt he cares very much (or shouldn't!)

'Even so' . . . your point being, what, he was psychic? I know the shorts are good but they're usually not that good.

  • Carl Icahn Says 'Jump' And The Market Asks 'How High?' [View article]
Well Ed you sure got it wrong on DGLY and I believe you got it wrong again. The fact that Icahn was also totally behind their previous incarnation as Motricity did nothing to right that ship. But for sure he has far less to lose with VLTC than those who paid 2.40 - 3.10 for it this morning do. In fact most of them are already taking it in the shorts.

If you wanted to give investors sound advice - instead of merely talking your book - you would have told them to wait a few days until the daytrade nuttiness has worn off. The odds are very good they'll have a chance to buy this in the 1's.

The longs are such belly-ache complainers! Frankly it's always amateur hour around here as the longs hang on for the ride back to zero (plus cash value) but all the same I never hear them complain that their CEO is simultaneously a dumper of shares and the biggest cheerleader for the stock you ever saw. How many times has he gone before the ultra-amateur forum 'Retail Investor's Conference'? Five times? More? There he gets to pitch this stock to the trade-from-home unemployed and retired who sadly are just gullible enough to swallow his bait. Meanwhile those who know better; the biotech funds and HF's just stay away or short the stock.

Weigh Murphy's endless puffery against the occasional SA article which explains the truth about why ONVO is worthless. Then bellyache on.

    ***********

Today was a priceless gift if like me you caught ONVO in the 4's and covered around the close.

  • Ocean Bio-Chem reports Q4 results [View news story]
This stinks. Management led investors to believe their new ebola-killin' germicides were going to be a huge seller and the stock rose to a new all-time high. Now we find out 2014 results are barely better than 2013.

23c earnings for a slow growth stock ought to equate to a price of 3.50 which is 50c higher than were the stock was before the ebola silliness hit.
