  • Kandi Technologies - Focus On Growth [View article]
It might have been a month ago at 11 - 13 but you'd probably be foolish to buy it at these levels right before earnings. KNDI's up 400% in one year and is priced for uber-perfection IMO.

Myself I'd probably take some profits now in fact.

Amazing incredible article!!! Because you're long we know it must be TRUE and we question not a single word you say! We your brave followers worship the very ground under your feet!!

Never was heard a discouraging word and the skies were not cloudy all day! Yay!

I'm sure KNDI is just licking their chops over the good work you've done what with the $300M shelf offering they just got approved. They're gonna print a whole lotta shares!

User (whoever you are) I was a bit harsh in my responses to you. I see that now and I offer my apologies. Having often been the sole voice of skepticism against an avalanche of punter ad hominems (which SA routinely deletes) I tend to respond somewhat strongly when perceiving myself to be attacked again.

In your case it wasn't warranted. Good luck.

I'm getting to like the ongoing slump in ONVO. Much more profitable than arguing plus it kinda settles matters.

It's going really well now :-) Thanks for your concern.

This is a funny stock. I had an open order to short 7,500 @ 7.99. Given the weakness in the market I was stunned to get a fill on 6,000 a couple of minutes after the market opened. This may have been caused by some forced short buy-ins in which case I was glad to take over their positions.

    I covered it at 7.63.

Will I get lucky on another sale tomorrow? :-)

Yes and they have no capital and no sales currently.

You're buying a pig-in-a-poke since no one knows how bad their balance sheet looks yet following the loss of most of the company.

How you spin driving most of the business into the ground and coming out with nothing for it as a good is beyond me. Because they still have one terribly undercapitalized segment to fail with (based on mgmt's stellar past performance)? Because they may have actually plundered the company of some valuable assets through a spurious foreclosure process? Because they lie to shareholders in press releases?

  • GreenHunter Resources Could Rise 150% [View article]
When the stock of a serial failing company shoots up 225% in 40 days because they've just announced another new business model - this one predicated on raising tons of capital and a slew of hail mary's - it's just begging to be shorted.

So short it we did. Some 73,000. I covered most yesterday and today but I'm holding 10,000 as a keepsake.

This is the second sortable spike in two years; the first came from the rush of excitement when they quit their losing oil production and announced they were moving into water treatment. Sound familiar?

My advice, which I feel comfortable giving since I know it won't be taken, is don't buy stocks that have just doubled and tripled just because everyone else is. It's better to have missed the boat than to sink in the boat.

  • Update: Plug Power Short Interest At New Highs And Wal-Mart Deal Expansion [View article]
The point is that PLUG is so diluted that even if they ever got breakeven - or gasp - became profitable, there's just too many shares.

If you figure a $5.00 stock ought to reasonably earn .25 - 50c in a normal, rational market, that would require PLUG to have net earnings of $40M - $85 a year.

Considering for the last three years they lost an average of $28M on an ave of $33M in revenue where's even the breakeven point? $100 - $150M in revs?

What would it take to hit $40M in profit? $250M revenues?

Of course by then PLUG should be much further diluted trying to cover ongoing losses and expanding the business so who's to say what the actual dilution will be by the time nirvana arrives?

It's pretty hopeless to expect a reasonable return at the current price levels.

A 10:1 reverse-split would get the shares outstanding back to where they stood two years ago. With 17M shares priced at 5.00 the stock begins to look like a reasonable albeit still risky investment. Of course that predicates a 90% drop in current valuation.

Tianjing was a part of BAK International that CBAK lost in foreclosure. It's on the chart there.

Yes and I can read a chart too. I shorted ONVO at 13.55 and covered it 5.10

See? Everyone can be a post-facto trading genius with a chart. Not just you.

Let me school you about trading; the pre-market is just for trading common shares. Options trading begins with the regular market.

User, thanks for your boast and now join the multitudes of Warren Buffett traders who armed with a chart and a few months to look back never posted a less than near-perfect trade in their lives ;-)

As for my obtaining the 'higher than high for the day' there's this little thing called 'pre-market'. You ought to check it out sometime.

No doubt after a 10:1 reverse split.

With 140M shares, up from 18M a couple of years ago there's nowhere to go but a reverse split.

Or GE could copy PLUG's design for a fraction of a billion dollars, combine it in a package with their SO fuel cell, and make deals with the Wal-Marts of the world.

If you're claiming all WMT is waiting for is a product that works and a producer who can deliver it in quantity who do you think has the greater resources to scale up to that level? PLUG or GE?

    That's a no-brainer . . . GE!

It never ceases to amaze how much lying these companies get away with. Then with the proverbial sh*t hits the fan, not the SEC but the class-action lawyers, will show up to help you recover .03c on the dollar.

Well if nothing else today's price action shows that the author's premise that excitement over this announcement could mark the beginning of a short-squeeze is rather wet. Rather what it illustrates is the foolishness of buying stocks in the pre-market. Those lucky souls got to pay as much as 6.25 before the market opened.

Since earnings are soon on deck it's worth re-reading this article-
