Taylor Dart is a top contributor on Seeking Alpha in both the Long Ideas and Precious Metals section of the website. He has over 10 years of experience in active investing with a compound annual growth rate of 19 percent per year. His main focus is on undervalued growth stocks outperforming the market and their peers. In addition he use extensive technical analysis to capture maximum upside price action, as his belief is that timing is everything. Taylor scans upwards of 1200 stocks nightly on the U.S. and Canadian markets to identify the best fundamental opportunities with the most timely technical setups. He is a huge proponent of trend following and the "Turtles" who enjoyed compound annual growth rates of over 80 percent per year.
"If there is a sudden range expansion in a market that has been trading narrowly, human nature is to try and fade that price move. When you get a range expansion, the market is sending you a very loud, clear signal that the market is getting ready to move in the direction of that expansion.” - Paul Tudor Jones
"While a fundamental analyst may be able to properly evaluate the economics underlying a stock, I do not believe they can predict how the masses will process this same information. Ultimately, it is the dollar-weighted collective opinion of all market participants that determines whether a stock goes up or down. This consensus is revealed by analyzing price."
Mark Abraham , Quantitative Capital Management, L.P.
"Profit targets imply a trader can predict the future. Profit targets are profit-limiting. Trend followers stay in the moment of now, avoid prognostication, and let markets run as far as they go. "
Thomas Vician, Jr.
"We can’t always take advantage of a particular period. But in an uncertain world, perhaps the investment philosophy that makes the most sense, if you study the implications carefully, is trend following. Trend following consists of buying high and selling low. For 19 years we have consistently bought high and sold low. If trends were not the underlying nature of markets, our type of trading would have very quickly put us out of business. It wouldn’t take 19 years or even 19 months of buying high and selling low ALL of the time to bankrupt you. But trends are an integral, underlying reality in life. How can someone buy high and sell low and be successful for two decades unless the underlying nature of markets is to trend? On the other hand, I’ve seen year-after-year, brilliant men buying low and selling high for a while successfully and then going broke because they thought they understood why a certain investment instrument had to perform in accordance with their personal logic. "

My name is Sean Geddert from Vancouver, Canada. I have a degree in business majoring in accounting and various certificates in financial management. I am in the process of acquiring the Certified Financial Planner and Certified Financial Analyst designations.
I enjoy following the global economy with emphasis on the U.S., China, Japan, and the Eurozone. I believe in a top-down fundamental approach when it comes to pursuing returns in equities. I also value contrarian investing and actually buying low and selling high.
I strongly disagree with the current irresponsible monetary policies across the developed world.
I believe there is always opportunity for returns if you know where to look and do your due diligence.
I hold a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment (similar to CFA), and a Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning.
I have 30 years of personal investing experience, and 15 years of professional financial advising experience, including broking experience at ETrade Australia, 7 years as a Senior Financial Planner at Commonwealth Bank of Australia and 8 years at High Net Worth Financial Advising. My business is a mix of young clients growing their wealth, pre-retirees, and retirees wanting income, some growth, and safety. As a global investor I use a macro thematic approach searching for good value and/or high growth. I search the globe for great investments with a focus on Asia, Emerging and Frontier Markets as well as "trend investing". I assess a countries demographics and growth potential. Some trends I currently follow include Chinese shares going global, the rising Asian middle class, Electric Vehicles, Renewable Energy, Energy Storage, Smartphones, 3D printing, and personal robots.
I also love to invest in income producing investments that can grow over time and benefit from compounding....Included here are the near monopoly businesses such as the Stock Exchanges, and the high quality income producers.
I use direct shares, ETFs, mutual funds and some direct property investments.
Four private female investors and one Dachshund.
We've consigned our careers as fund managers to the shredder, as we no longer have confidence that we can grow our clients' money anywhere near approaching the sparkling results that we achieved for them in the past.
Now Heidi and Desiree's interests are in the fields of global water distribution, agriculture, and timberland, while Clarissa and Helga manage strategies of certain commodities and hard assets.
We're also self-styled asset-manager vigilantes, who will bitch-slap those who take advantage of innocent retirees and other retail investors who have been ground into muesli by the Wall Street machine.
Sleazy RIA's, CFA's and 99% of the rest of financial "helpers" service their clients like Bonny and Clyde serviced banks.
Oh, we almost forgot... While our names (Heidi, Helga, Clarissa and Desiree) may not be our real names, Schnitzel the Dachshund's name really is "Schnitzel the Dachshund."

Contrarian daytrading technician who specializes in locating high probability short term trades while predicting price movement directions with over 85% accuracy. Most of my trading involves either extremely short term micro scalping of stocks or commodities (using 1 minute bar charts), or swing trading of stocks overnight. I also specialize in weekly stock option premium selling, along with pre-market and post-market psuedo market maker and stealth trading activity, and selling commodity option strangles (selling delta neutral pairs of far out-ot-the-money puts and calls), with the intent to achieve a steady 1% weekly return. After 32 years, well battle tested, very opportunitistic while putting capital preservation as tantamount.
Rehabilitation Counselor over 20 years, M.S., M.B.A., now an around-the-clock speculator. Incorporate seasonals, time of day, and other patterns and methods where high probability price movement patterns can be statistically forecast. Know how to safely go long high beta, heavily shorted stocks; know how and when to use extremes in sentiment to take the other side. I like to fade extreme moves as my proprietary methods are based on reversion to the mean theory. Developed my own scale trading and money management techniques. Will change and adapt my trading style based on current market conditions.
I hope to start a chatroom devoted to teaching speculators how to see and capture daytrading opportunities. They say that those who can...do, while those who can't....teach. I want to provide teaching from someone who really can do, someone who knows how to make steady returns while experiencing minimal drawdowns. As a mentor, I would love to share my knowledge and support to help small traders. I came from humble beginnings and have never forgotten it. I want to accelerate the learning curve of my chatroom students so they won't have to make all the mistakes that I have over the years. I am excellent at devising and implementing strategies that can quickly turn a losing trade into a net winner.
