Allan should be made chairman of the board. After all he is the one responsible for saving the company from bankruptcy and its recent rejuvenation.

  • Is Ford A Buy Going Into Earnings? [View article]
I have some cash on reserve specifically to buy Ford if a correction occurs after Ford earnings are released. I feel that the dividend is safe and a lower price will increase the yield slightly to ease the pain on the short term.

  • Vantage Drilling: Modern Fleet May Produce Growth That Makes Debt Bearable [View article]
Since a lot of investors seem to be concerned with VTG 's debt. I decided to checks some numbers to see if the concerns are valid . First on VGT; BV=597mil. Fleet value= 3.4 billion. pay off of debt= savings of 90mil per year. EBITDA 2009= 30.5 mil., EBITDA 2013= 363.5 mil. AT that rate they should raise. 2.18 billion by 2019 when the majority of their debt is due. The question I ask my self. Will they be in a position to roll over what ever debt is remaining? If I were a banker the answer is a resounding yes. At a lower rate than in the past. I also decided t compare VTG with SDRL since they have a very modern fleet of drill ships. First, price per share. SDRL=$33.00. VTG= $1.74. ROC; VTG=11%. SDRL=9%. Growth rate; SDRL=85% greater than peers; VTG 66% greater that peers. Whereas SDRL is without doubt a safer investment, VGT in my mind has a much great potential for capital appreciation . I personally have come to the conclusion that debt should not be that much of a concern when evaluating VTG.

A great article. My charts indicate a break from its near term range today. If the trend continues tomorrow I will add to my current position. considering the price of Vantage I feel the risk reward ratio is in my favor.

  • Ford Vs. GM: Where The Real Difference Lies [View article]
    Chuck thanks for your article.
Your presentation makes a very pervasive reason for considering trading Ford and General Motors. I prefer Ford over GM because it is on an upper trend in gaining market share and earnings are trending upwards. I am not convinced that GM's earnings will be increasing any time soon.

  • Ford to bring Lincoln brand to China [View news story]
The new Lincoln seems to be doing quite well in the States. I see no reason why the brand will not do well in China. The Buick will not compare well against the new Lincoln. It is an old brand and the younger rich will try it if for no other reason that it is not their dad's choice of auto.

  • Kinross Gold: The Disappearing Reserves [View article]
I liked Kinross until Putin became a factor. Since 25% of their earnings come from their Russian holdings it made me very nervous, so I sold Kinross and put that money into Alexco and Lake Shore Gold.
I still like Kinross but I wil not invest in it until things settle down in Russia.

  • Ford: A Second Half Story To Buy Now [View article]
I like your scenario, I feel that it will be a likely happening. My thinking is they will beat estimated earnings and a sell down may occur, a stampede out of the stock seems a little extreme. To many active investors that like the stock long term; I included, that will be supporting the stock as a buying opportunity.
