  • TrueCar: Fuel economy still important for truck buyers [View news story]
I am on vacation and just rented a brand new Ford Focus. I can not believe what a marvelous vehicle it is. Very peppy (must be an Ecoboost engine) , the instrument panel is an electronic marvel, sunroof, excellent gas mileage, and more stuff that I would expect in a luxury auto. Is this not Ford's lowest level auto? couple this Focus with the new F-150 and Ford is going to make a ton of money in the very near future.
Long and adding to my position.

  • Precious metals miners surge on Swiss stunner [View news story]
The world has got smaller with the internet; no nation is an island any more. that said currencies is the catalysis that will propel gold prices higher. The dollar is unreasonably too high compared to the other major countries fiat money. Since we are a trading nation the dollar will have to be devalued to be able to sell our products. Further in order to help pay the trillions of dollars floating through out the world, the only way is to cheapen the dollar. WE are starting see it happening as the Chinese and Russia are selling US treasuries to buy gold. The main reason bullion is moving higher is because smart money is seeing the writing on the wall. To protect ones saving one way is to invest in gold related stocks and hope the government does not confiscate our accounts like FDR did with gold in the 1900's. I personally like the junior PM's since it is very hard for the government to close down the mines that produce the bullion. They seem to be moving up as I write this post.

    Good luck All

  • Update: Alexco's Updated PEA Doesn't Impress Me [View article]
    1/16/2015
    AXU was up 4.89% today.
AXU was up roughly 8% in the past three days.
Silver was at 17.29 the last time I checked.
At $18 Flame & Moth is a go.
The Environmental Division is still growing and very profitable. It could very well be a potential spin off.
02/01/13; AXU was trading @ $4.68 and it did not have Flame and Moth at that time. Flame and Moth is still open for further increases from known reserves.
Compared with previous price, $.50 is ridiculous.
I really think AXU is a marvelous speculation as the price of silver increases.

I am long and adding to my position for the mentioned reasons.

  • Thompson Creek: Lower Costs Partially Mitigate Decline In Copper Prices [View article]
    E.A, Great news,
I have been worried, since the price of the stock has crashed. After reading your article I will treat the current price drop as a buying opportunity to increase my position.

  • Update: Ford Moving In Right Direction Overseas [View article]
With 64% rise in price from the lows to the current price plus the dividend a little consolation at the present range is not unrealistic. However further gains will come when the up coming sales and earning figures materialize. obviously management is confident that the numbers will improve enough to raise the dividend ahead the up coming yearly improvement. $20 plus should be doable in the near future.

  • Update: Lake Shore Gold's Q4 Production Falls On Lower Ore Grades [View article]
Just because LSG is going through low grades in the Quarter, Why do you think the trend will continue? I do think that making good money with their lower grades is a positive. I see no reason why other months with higher grades are not possible. I always thought it was normal in mining to run through low and high grade ore.
That is unless LSG is high grading and the mine is not worth the price it is now selling for.
Ben is that what you think?

  • Vantage Drilling: What Is The Significance Of This Recent Collapsing Share Price? [View article]
I agree that pushing delivery back 9 months will be a good solution. It will let oil prices stabilize to a more reasonable figure. Letting go of Colbalt is not that good a deal if it can be avoided. To let the best deep water drilling ship go is not that great. They should lease it at a bargain price if necessary until petrol prices stabilize. The assets are not worthless mostly it is unreasonable fear that has the VTG's price where it is today.

  • Lake Shore Gold: Big Gold Sales In 2014, Weak Oil To Shore Up Margins [View article]
LSG is a blooming bargain along with all the Juniors in the PM patch. This stock is worth north of $4.50 easily if bullion prices keep rising to 1300 or better.
I am long and accumulating LSG.
    Good luck all.

  • Vantage Drilling: What Is The Significance Of This Recent Collapsing Share Price? [View article]
Is VTG a risky investment today? I say yes, but the rewards for those willing to take a chance are enormous. Will the price of oil stay at current prices? By 2019 the prices will be at better than $80. The Frackers are already cutting back, some will have to go out of business because they are over extended. The Arabs have obligations that require lots of cash to keep their citizens from revolting. A meeting is scheduled in the near future to discuss this matters. Energy consummation world wide is still increasing in the middle east, especially in China. With a small cut back in production and the ever increasing demand of energy of all sorts, The price of petrol could easily get to the $100 level by 2019.
If the banks were willing to finance VTG existing fleet, why will they not finance the Cobalt if it is put under contract before 2019? I am willing to take a chance that things will improve in the oil patch, so I am will to buy VTG at the current level. Not much to lose a lot to gain.
