  • Monster Beverage Shares Have Energy - Buy Now To Fly High [View article]
Good buy after the dust settles from today's sell off and fear of lawsuit is replaced by reason that maybe monster is charged maybe $5 million if anything (how libel are they? drinking too much starbucks or water can kill you as well) vs. the Billions in market cap lost.

  • A lawsuit filed against Monster Beverage (MNST -13.2%) over the death of a teenager  alleges (court filing .pdf) the two cans of the company's energy drink consumed by the girl contained 480 milligrams of caffeine. Though it's the equivalent of more than a dozen Coke soft drinks (caffeine database), short-term trading opportunists note it's only 60 milligrams more than one Starbucks Venti coffee. In a statement, Monster Beverage maintains it has safely sold over 8B energy drinks worldwide. [View news story]
Hmmm....slightly more caffeine than a starbuck's coffee drink....I am thinking they don't have a case either. Playing options appropriately.

Another great article! Will be very interesting to see how accurate your prediction of EPS for tomorrow's earnings will be. Your analysis seems logical and well supported.

  • Intel's Q3 Results: A Long-Term Look Between The Lines [View article]
I think Intel will eventually become major player in mobile revolution BUT I know that Intel will always dominate in the computer space....processors are a commodity, they are never going away, we are currently in a down cycle but I think it is reasonable to bet on the best producer in the world of processors and that computer are still needed in the future. A nice 4% dividend that is well supported helps as well.

  • Google (GOOG -9%) says printing firm R.R. Donnelley (RRD -2.8%) filed a draft of its weak Q3 report without authorization. Google adds it will deliver a finalized report, after which shares will resume trading. Meanwhile, Horace Dediu observes Motorola's phone sales fell 26% Y/Y, and Cory Johnson notes Google's cost per click (search ad price) trend isn't a pretty sight. One-liners are flying on Twitter (I, II, III) over the report, and a "pending" Larry Page quote. Update: Google says it expects to resume trading before the market's close. [View news story]
I thought it was halted because it hit the level for the "circuit breakers" to act? Anyone know?
