  • Sirius XM: A Strong Sell  [View article]
Analysts are like economists, if you laid them end to end they'd all point in different directions. Pivotal Research has just raised its target on $SIRI from $3.75 to $4.25 with a Buy rating.

  • Sirius XM Sets Share Price  [View article]
John Malone could turn Sirius into a double-digit stock any time he wants to, just do a reverse stock split. Why bother?

As for comparisons against Pandora, Sirius has a market cap of about $23.6 billion, Pandora has a market cap of $6 billion. Share price is not the only or best measure of a stock! And Sirius is making a profit, too.

  • Sirius XM Sets Share Price  [View article]
Curious that now that the buyback price has been set, SIRI stock is up over 1% today and threatening to close the gap that occurred on 10/25. Does this have anything to do with the name change, which has caused some holders of SIRI to be unable to easily trade their positions until their brokers have received the new shares?

  • Can The Chicago Bears Save Dr. Pepper?  [View article]
Years ago I saw Pele play at Soldier Field.

At least it won't become 'Dr Pepper Soldier Field'.

When a company pays megabucks for stadium/arena naming rights, it's time to short the stock.

  • Affymax Poised To Take On Amgen?  [View article]
Contracts can be changed, and if the insurance companies and the government decide that the existence of a much cheaper alternative drug is reason to lower the amount they will pay for that treatment, Amgen's long term contracts may be subject to renegotiation as patients may insist on using a different drug or a different dialysis center.

It won't happen overnight, but it will occur.

Warren almost never overpays for a stock, with his recent railroad deal being one of the few exceptions.
